I am Roseline Bassey, one of the Outreachy interns working with @joseph and @jflory7. We are working on the launch of the Fedora Ready program, and we seek trademark approval for the use of the "Fedora Ready" name.
Overview of the Fedora Ready program: Fedora Ready is a program to support vendors who ship or support Fedora on their computers. It is not a certification program or a legal partnership with hardware vendors.
Proposed Use of the Fedora Ready Name:
We plan to use the "Fedora Ready" name in the following ways:
In the past, the marketing team has supported hardware vendors such as Slimbook by:
So, to move forward with the official launch of the program as "Fedora Ready", we require trademark approval for the name.
I've created a topic on Fedora Discussion for this ticket.
Please keep this ticket focused. Discuss there, and record votes and decisions here. Thanks!
+1
(thanks for answering my questions in the Discussion topic)
I am +1 to this, and I think we can officially call this approved by the Council, but please do not move forward right now, because I am still in conversation with Red Hat's trademark law expert, as this is outside the kind of trademark things we've done before and we need to make sure we do it right.
@roseline-bassey and @joseph -- it might be helpful to get you on a call with the RH lawyer to discuss. Lawyers prefer to do things that way. I'm not sure we can fit it in before Flock...
Thank you, Matthew. I am open to a call with the RH lawyer. Would love to discuss this further.

Okay, we are good to go with the "Fedora Ready" name. RH Legal would like to review any proposed logos, and there are a few questions about what uses are to be allowed without special permission. I'll set up a followup on those for after Flock.
