Replacing the sbus ping-pong with an alert inside the responders and providers would simplify the sbus communication a lot.

On IRC, simo suggested we could use an alert in the sssd processes themselves. The monitor would restart the processes based on receiving SIGCHLD.

The patches are on review, but I would like to release 1.14 alpha today, therefore moving to 1.14 beta.
