We currently only have Power9 and still running el8 on these machines. As we'll have to (due to DC move) switch to different cpu generation (Power10), we have to start investigating options. Using el10 (or el9) as BaseOS just as hypervisor (kvm hosts) to deploy other ppc64le kvm guests would be the preferred method (as we have ansible automation for it)

new status update: I joined Virt SIG to rebuild what's missing to support kvm guests on top of kvm ppc64le host I just branched some pkgs under https://gitlab.com/CentOS/virt/rpms namespace, and reimported sources into cbs lookaside.
Here are the candidate builds (to be tested on real hardware but we have repoclosure for libvirt/qemu-kvm/virt-install packages for c10s ppc64le arch) :
