Tracking issue for patchsets that we'd like to get backported into the RHEL kernel

Presuming ntfs3 lands in 5.15, we want that: http://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/2109.0/03094.html

https://lore.kernel.org/linux-fsdevel/20210614211904.14420-4-hannes@cmpxchg.org/ is a decent candidate (albeit likely a tricky one), once it gets finalized and merged upstream. So if the fs-verity patchset for btrfs support.

We also will want the Btrfs subpage work.

ntfs3 was merged yesterday: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=f7464060f7ab9a2424428008f0ee9f1e267e410f

Here's my first attempt at a backport: https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/src/kernel/centos-stream-9/-/merge_requests/185

I've also done a more non-trivial backport: https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/src/kernel/centos-stream-9/-/merge_requests/292

Expect ntfs3 to be backported to Centos-stream9

You do? How do you know?

I see this issue tracking the patchset we want to backport into the RHEL kernel, I want NTFS3 to be in CentOS 9 Stream. I have not done kernel development

This is basically a wishlist ticket, so there's no guarantee of anything right now.

thanks for the reply

This is dead now that we've changed strategies.
