New initiative: Fedora Infrastructure: Metrics for Apps on Openshift

What is this initiative about?

This initiative aims to install the newest openshift cluster in fedora infrastructure, deploy a prometheus instance using openshift and develop and publish documentation on how to configure applications using this instance to avail of the metrics and monitoring capabilities of prometheus.

Why this initiative?

  • Provides Fedora infrastructure with the latest Openshift Cluster
  • Provide a means of capturing metrics and performance of applications running on openshift

Definition of success

  • Openshift 4.x is installed in Fedora infrastructure
  • Prometheus is configured
  • Clear documentation available for upstream apps also running on openshift to install and configure prometheus for their use cases
  • Documentation available for app maintainers on how to upgrade to the latest Openshift version

What are your nice or really nice to have wishes?
* The solution that meets the needs of the Fedora infra could be used by the CentOS infra team
* All CPE applications are configured through this solution
