ehm, for an thing you giving an deadline in 3 days you should know if you want an printed or embroidered shirt. If it comes to printing there are several printing methods for shirts and it depends on which one is used for preparing the motiv!
Hi,
We are planning to print a round-neck t-shirt design, with blue as background. The design on blue background should be ideally 2-4 colors.
We would love to have the following: 1. Front t-shirt design 2. Sleeve motif 3. Back design.
That would help us to take the design to t-shirt vendors and ask for quotes with: 1. Only front design on blue round-neck 2. Front + Sleeve desgin on blue round-neck 3. Front + back design on blue round-neck.
Having the design ready quickly would allow us a quick feedback loop with the t-shirt vendors.
To add to the above (and answer questions gnokii raised with me on IRC), we don't have information on the kind of printing method the vendors are using. We would like to have a design that we can take to vendors to get an initial quote. We can then iterate based on requirements from the chosen vendor.
Also, the deadline of 22nd May is for a draft to share with the vendors to get a quote, not for a final design to send for printing.
Hi guys
This ticket came up in the design team meeting today. We unfortunately don't have anyone on the design team who can make a May 22 deadline. But you shouldn't need a design to get a quote. Since time is short, here is what we suggest:
Get a quote from the printers right now without a mockup (you don't need it.) Ask for 3 color front + 3 color back. We agreed as a design team that the sleeve imprint isn't really in style anymore and it's better to drop it.
If you can give Suchakra a weekend to work on this (May 25 deadline) then he can have the design put together for you.
Suchakra knows printers in Pune and can help if you have issues with the printer's quotes.
I am tentatively assigning this ticket to Suchakra; please let us know how you would like to proceed.

OK, I think that should work, I'll get people to ask for quotes based on this. I don't know if the size of the print makes too much difference, but if it does, we'll ask Suchakra for it.
25th should be fine.
Oh great, I'll get in touch with Suchakra offline for this. It would be nice to have multiple quotes to compare.
its just a generally note. You dont need a design to get a quote. A printer will tell you how big his sieve can be and normally he will also tell what he charges for each color,as he has to prepare for each a sieve. Its the same with foil, flock or even with embroidery.
The best way to do it is to look at the budget, what can be done and then we work it out for getting a final quote. I already told it in another ticket today, our time is limited we are to few for all the work, so look at it what you can pay what in this case suchara designed? We waisted our time, sometimes its just better to go in IRC and consult us and we find together the solution for your budget.
Mo missed some lines in the meeting, I already started with Siddesh yesterday a conversation but unfortunately he had to go off. What I wanted to suggest him is to consider an embroidered polo shirt, like devconf is doing, its a nice chest and small on the sleeve the sponsors. They even do it two colored now and prices for embroidery are in asia way way more cheaper then here in Europe or in US. And I thought he already had a quote for Fedora shirts embroidered ;)
Royal Blue, retro hipster Pune look :) fudcon-pune-1-BLUE.png
Just added one variant. I have not toned downed the colors yet, it is still approx 7 colors yet. Probably I will reduce 2 more colors by changing the logo and moustache a bit. Let me know if this retro hipster style with Puneri 'pagdi' is a goood thing on back or not. Suggestions welcome as well.

Perhaps [https://fedorahosted.org/design-team/attachment/ticket/376/fudcon-pune-2-BLUE.png this] is a more gender-neurtal variant of the same retro hipster look with a nose ring.

Added a new minimalist design for the back as the organizers requested. I request the organizers to use lighter t-shirt color than the original Royal blue in previous variants. Probably a color like [http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Mw7waYfv3iw/Tutik3ps1KI/AAAAAAAAAHM/O7U9bCrJZ7c/s1600/Photo-0003.jpg this].
If you have more suggestions or feedback, let me know.
Thanks Suchakra, that looks good. Can you please attach the final files that we can give to the printer?
Ok, let me try to adjust colors a bit more for the printer. I shall send you the updated sources thereafter.

Sources and instructions for printer are here [1]. I have provided SVG, PDF and a preview PNG along with Comfortaa font which they may need. Let the printer do a demo print and see if the things look ok. There are 8 colors. We can try to reduce them if the printer needs or if the price goes too high. Let me know soon.
