the plan is for 2 of these banners http://www.advatumdisplays.com/servlet/the-207/retractable%2Cbanner-stand%2Ccontender/Detail
the idea is to have 2 of the four foundations on each so when the banners are placed side by side to make one big poster
Time is getting tight to have this created and printed for use for the RH Summit.

The design area for these is 23.5in x 77.5in (about 59.7cm x 196.9cm). The artwork prep guide is here:

We'd really like to get these ordered in time to have a lovely presence at the Red Hat Summit... Anyone got time to help with the Inkscape work? The guide above says they need TIFF, EPS, PSD or PDF, preferably at 100% of the original size, with all text converted to paths. (EPS preferred, and they say they can match Pantone in that format.)
1st set of draft candidates banners.png
Hi, I have a couple sets of candidate pairs; what do you think? Would either pair be suitable? Do you have a favorite? (will attach)
We can mix and match if you like, the variables:
logo: standard horizontal logo vs vertical logo version (i like the vertical better since it centers more nicely, keeping the two more balanced when placed together)
size of cloverleaf, smaller or very large (not sure which I prefer)
(oh and p.s., the background will be the standard light grey tiles, just makes the file larger and unwieldy to work with so I didn't want to bring that into the fray until we're sure which general design to go with)
Noted about the background, thanks! :-) I agree with the choice of the vertical logo treatment and I think I like the larger leaves as long as there's nothing else in the middle foreground of the banner -- the way it is now.
Hey Paul, cool, I'll go ahead with the right-hand pair then. Will try to finish by tonight; at the latest tomorrow evening.
definitely the right pair also should also have the website address on them as well?? at the very bottom is my thinking
Without the website URL (sorry, didn't have that req when I started work on them) they are here:
http://fedorapeople.org/groups/designteam/Fedora%20Collateral/Posters/Four%20Foundations%20Cloverleaf%20Banners%20-%20Set%20of%202/
I strongly recommend going with the PDF format for the printers. I did EPS but it doesn't seem to handle pattern fills very well (try opening one up in evince, yukk!) We don't really need pantone anyway.
Is the website URL critical? I can add it; probably will have to wait until tonight though. Do you want the URL on the bottom of both? I worry about it clashing with the freedom | friends | features | first tagline below the logo.
Is this design going to be duplicated for several pairs of banners, with one pair going to any specific event? Sorry if I missed the background here, and for the lateness of the question.
I wrote to Ben earlier:

Any comment on ticket #57? Is the idea that we'd have a pair of these vertical banners for each of several boxes? Or would it be better to have these set up so they can be split up between events? the idea was that we would have them for the large events like the summit, olf etc

the idea was that we would have them for the large events like the summit, olf etc
because they will NOT fit in the event box. so we will have to ship them around to where they are needed reguardless }}}
Also he asked for my opinion on the website URL. I don't think it's critical because the media and other schwag we hand out should serve that purpose, and a URL toward the bottom of the banner won't be very visible. (Toward the top it would tend to ruin the design IMHO.)
thanks banners created and should make their appearance @ the summit
Yay! I look forward to seeing them! I'll close out this ticket now.
