On a side note, what do you need to do if you volunteer as a mentor? Is it for programmers only, or are there other opportunities. I am especially interested if i can work on it remotely...

No no its open for all who are fedora contributors and have fair knowledge in an area. You can fill up https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1OhVr1omyFEYWlSDvbUZgcTUVhEg95iT-Vimt3aCULv8/ and you can submit an example tasks. Note that we need at least 25tasks from each mentor, feel free to ask me anything if you get stuck!
can you tweak the "love to coding" with love for design,qa,doc,code and everything in fedora... cz this is not specific to code
