Mindshare Committee is working on the F34 release party[1], and we are looking at used Work Adventure[2] as an alternate Hallway Track (instead of using a HopIn session). They have default templates we could use, but they also allow you to build and use your own map[3]. As soon as I saw this, I was like wow how cool would it be to have a custom Fedora map :D
To make the Fedora release parties more engaging for attendees To reuse for other virtual Fedora events (social hour, Nest, FWD, meetups)
Work Adventure provides a "map starter kit" and sample map to copy in their repo. I think it would be good to start with what they have and make some small adjustments to incorporate any of the following: - approved ascii or other simplified Fedora logo, maybe what comes from: https://pagure.io/design/issue/736 - Pandas, badgers, beefy, etc - "Friends, Freedom, Features, First" - "We are Fedora" - Party stuff: balloons, confetti, cupcakes, etc - Your ideas here :)

Hi @riecatnor, I would like to take this up if nobody's working on it. I will go through the materials provided, would love to get some help to start working on this :))))))
I went through the links and issues, what I understand from it is that instead of making a HopIn session, the F34 release party will be conducted on a more interactive platform, with a fedora customized map with distinctive fedora features.
I have created a repo of the map and my next step will be to start customising it on tiled. There are plenty of existing templates, with a basic feature map with themes like, start-up, office, creative space, big office. Do you have any preference or should I try out with anything first? Work adventure is pretty fun stuff, we can even make games there! something new and interesting to learn I would love to have your views on this @riecatnor , If I'm missing something?

@riecatnor: hey, here is the CPE logo in png

Hi @swast1 thanks for getting started on this :) really excited to see what we can come up with.
To clarify we are using HopIn and Work Adventure. HopIn will have the information sessions and Work Adventure will be used as a "hallway track". A hallway track is lingo for the conversations that start in the hallways of an in person conference. It is meant for informal and spontaneous interaction versus the HopIn experience which is very structured. Does that make sense?
Would it be easy for you to show us examples here of each of the starting templates so we can choose? (if there are a ton, choose the top 3-5 you feel would be suitable)
We want to include the Community Platform Engineering Team into the space as well. They have attached their logo in the previous comment so we can add it into the customization. We could also include games :) I am open to what you come up with!
Got it @riecatnor , I will post the most suitable templates which will go with the fedora theme, following the fedora guidelines. Yes i got the CPE logo, I will include it along with the other logos and customised artworks we will be using. I am exploring tiled, many features could be added to our map. Including games and making it even more interactive will be fun I will post my next iterations soon here, Thank youuu!
Hi @riecatnor , I did a deep research on tiled tutorials and went through the software throughly and have decided to change the map completely even though it is has only one design. Using the pre existing themes might give us issue while hosting the maps and would need organisation details. So to start I have a few questions: 1. How many people will be attending the meet - this is to help me decide the area and size of the map and number of floors to add 2. For games I have an idea of making it a treasure hunt. But we will need a team to execute with the treasure and codes, I need to do more research here. 3. Where can i get the Fedora Graphic guidelines, badgers, pandas, I checked in other issues too I could not find it, If the work on them is still going on I would like to try something on my own! Of course following the fedora guidelines, keeping the identity intact.
I started with the tiles, made some sprites for customising the map to look more like Fedora map. I looked up for the guidelines and design rules for fedora from https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo/UsageGuidelines#:~:text=We%20require%20at%20minimum%201,small%20object%20like%20a%20pen.)
A sprite for the balloons, I will make more balloons of the colors Friends Magenta, Features Orange, First Green, Freedom Purple, all from the guide. link of the sprite: https://piskel-imgstore-b.appspot.com/img/9ee464ee-949d-11eb-810a-3143542d8010.gif
Fedora pandas, took reference from the telegram group dp :P
<img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-03_at_10.28.02_PM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/279438830601e14faf9d407e7209ebdeeb65b78e22f2bf51baeeff107de688c4-Screenshot_2021-04-03_at_10.28.02_PM.png" />
I have made these artwork on piskel, its an open source platform for making pixel art and sprites. I tried making pixel art on inkscape, but there were size issues and exporting issues as the tiles are supposed to be of the form of tilesets something like :
<img alt="floortileset.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/54f0aea0feb189ba4faa6cb17d0dacbfd1f9b6a24ee5d8f9cdf11c8f2d0c8d81-floortileset.png" />
The above tileset is a part of the workadventure map repo Piskel is also cool for making sprites and animations and it was recommended on the tiled blogs.
I also wanted to know where i could get the reference for beefy and badges, I'm really loving making these animations and i believe the map is going to be a blast!
I will be waiting for your views and feedback on this @riecatnor , teammates please feel free to give your suggestions and ideas too, I'm open to all of them :))))
Hey @riecatnor , I was just going through the issue #748 and found the links to the badges and guidelines, I guess they will be enough :)) Thank you!
Hi @riecatnor I find this super interesting! Is it possible for another person to contribute to this issue?
I have made some progress on this I would like to share
I made a few more balloon animations using Fedora colors, Animations: https://piskel-imgstore-b.appspot.com/img/341c7721-958b-11eb-9461-41589ab5cfc5.gif https://piskel-imgstore-b.appspot.com/img/7c909ade-958b-11eb-8f65-41589ab5cfc5.gif
<img alt="baloons_1.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/536c541789b3a7f66fbeec75a035720b244c329d67df0ac0a4b1d91e67cbad5d-baloons_1.png" /><img alt="baloons.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/ff7f1c9871af027e61633a8be200d58e7a1c123bce9eecfaa3748afee6f093d7-baloons.png" />
The panda animation looks something like this : <img alt="panda_animated.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/8424c5e6565f7e3496549f1305579cc208e414045b53f26aee437dbf422b9db1-panda_animated.png" />
And the WIP map looks something like: <img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-05_at_2.46.01_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/a44203e9b3f622d48ccc00761938022b5d63dfff9ac69a709fbfa56e9592af7f-Screenshot_2021-04-05_at_2.46.01_AM.png" />
More to add: 1. confettis 2. more fedora pandas and beefy and fedora themed cupcakes 3. Badges 4. Increase the size of the map(?) 5. ascii logo and CPE logo
I have some doubts too: 1. how should I add the badges? and which ones as when i saw the list there were many fun badges but could not decide 2. Something more related to fedora office and workspace maybe, some specifics which you would like to add?
I would love to get your feedback on this @riecatnor , I would love to get suggestions and feedbacks from everyone :)))
Also, Hey @dhairya15 welcome to the ticket!
Hi @swast1 OMGoshhhh this is GREAT!! :D wow. I will try to respond to your questions, let me know if you have follow ups.
How many people will be attending the meet - this is to help me decide the area and size of the map and number of floors to add
Overall we can expect 200 attendees for the two day event, usually there are about 50-80 on the event platform at one time, so I think we can expect 25-40 to be here at one time.
For games I have an idea of making it a treasure hunt. But we will need a team to execute with the treasure and codes, I need to do more research here.
Cool!
Where can i get the Fedora Graphic guidelines, badgers, pandas, I checked in other issues too I could not find it, If the work on them is still going on I would like to try something on my own! Of course following the fedora guidelines, keeping the identity intact.
It looks like you found some stuff for inspiration, but there is most likely more. You have access to all the artwork from the Fedora Badges project. https://badges.fedoraproject.org/ if you click on a badge, you will see a field on the left hand side: "Criteria". This link will bring you to the original ticket with the source file. Other files are going to be in this repo. If you are on the "Issues" page, you will see a drop down menu that says "86 open issues", if you click there you can see there are 748 closed issues! Make sure to read tickets carefully to grab correct files :)
So cute!! I wonder can we make a version with the new logo too?
Love these too!
Can't wait to see this!
I have some doubts too: 1. how should I add the badges? and which ones as when i saw the list there were many fun badges but could not decide
Hmmm, this one might be hard as it is. You have so much other stuff going on for this, let's leave this one thing off the list :)
Something more related to fedora office and workspace maybe, some specifics which you would like to add?
Oh, yes! I have some ideas of things, feel free to choose what interests you: - dance floor - disco ball - karaoke stage - drink/juice bar - outside area, like a lawn or patio with some furniture
Two more things: - I think we can leave out the bathrooms? LOL since we don't need them and it could invite toilet humor ;) haha - I am looking into setting up the instance this week and will leave any notes here on the ticket
@dhairya15 absolutely! Can't wait to see what you come up with :D
Ahh, this looks extremely cool! I would love to contribute and help from my end by crafting the party elements on piskel. May I join @swast1 @riecatnor ^.^ ?
Hey @riecatnor ! Thank you for your encouraging feedbacks and suggestions <33 they motivated me to push through my work even more :DDD
About the number of people: I'm thinking of building the map again as once we make a map on tiled we cannot change their sizes, and here I feel as we need to add more stuff, without making it crowded, we should increase the area, please let me know if you have any preferences for the size here.
Oh i totally forgot to add the new logo, I have made a fresh set with new logo here: https://piskel-imgstore-b.appspot.com/img/014658ee-964a-11eb-9bea-4d8756792f7b.gif

Absolutely love the idea, I can imagine a few stuffs to play around these!
Two more things: - I think we can leave out the bathrooms? LOL since we don't need them and it could invite toilet humor ;) haha
Agreed, LOL, I will not add them to the new map!
I am looking into setting up the instance this week and will leave any notes here on the ticket
This seems cool!
Hey @yavnikaa , thank you for finding it interesting to work on, there are some issues on making the sprites, the size of each sprite is different and will need the map to decide, as the tiles on the map are of 32px, but we are supposed to make them in such a way that it should be a multiple of 32 with grid setting of the same size, and I have kept all of them different. This might even push us to export it many times, also I already had a few things on my mind, I'm working on them, maybe then you can suggest your changes? I would really love to help you out with piskel :))) if that's okay @riecatnor , @yavnikaa ? I am just trying to put my opinion here.
Hello, @yavnikaa absolutely :)
@swast1 looking forward to the new map! The sizing can really depend.. in fact I was looking into the Work Adventure docs today and they advise the following: "In our experience, a map of 80x80 tiles is a perfect fit for 100 concurrent users." Which seems like a good fit for us? Once you get the new map set up can we do a test, I put the screenshot for how to below.
<img alt="Screenshot_from_2021-04-07_10-54-33.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/0d632eb336dbf72dbffd1c2c02599ac0afa73bb43095fe47796104a273f318b8-Screenshot_from_2021-04-07_10-54-33.png" />
I checked in on how to set up the instance for the event and for the option we want, the "event" will be open for 5 days(Opening on April 28th). We can test the map using the free option until then.
Last note- I would suggest to anyone working on this read the docs thoroughly to see the different functions and things that can be done :) https://workadventu.re/admin-guide
@swast1 I absolutely love your pixel art - bravo! I just wanted to point out its probably better to use the new logo and on the blue balloon instead of the green. Itherwise, carry on! 👍

YES, Luckily i made the new map of the size 80x80 tiles, i thought it would be enough.
Thank you for the info!
Yes definitely we should test the map more than once, maybe we all working on the map could get along at a time on the map and check how it works with many people onboard!
Also I'm always here to help you all with piskel and tiled, Tiled could be a litte confusing at the start, I am still learning a new thing everyday :p
Here are my updates on the work till now, not much as my quizzes are going on
<img alt="confetti1.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/b041bc6d5041c1fa59bc14ac69b39bb5c4e2b4dcec45527725044b7ffc204a76-confetti1.png" />
Thank you so much @duffy and @riecatnor , your feedbacks really make my day :)))
Here are my updates on the work till now, not much as my quizzes are going on I have also updated the balloon as suggested by @duffy , as logo on the blue balloon makes more sense as it is on the new logo.
<img alt="New_Piskel_2.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/5efd36d15ce246189b0a5eb53d1b1c52aa1883632b77cefdb4bffd4bd544ebc6-New_Piskel_2.png" /> <img alt="baloons_clone.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/9b7c3ce019dc2e223ec4dbcfc6f339027cd616b909a03eed383847cf0ac0b973-baloons_clone.png" />
The fresh set of elements we have now: <img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-08_at_1.43.52_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/56d8d90848a18cc522974ba889d164f10fafcede8aad1f1dce5f4f9d28b08c43-Screenshot_2021-04-08_at_1.43.52_AM.png" />
Of the ascii logo and cpe logo, I'm thinking of making their sprites of different sizes and add them directly to the map as tiles, or in the gardens and on the disco stage maybe @yavnikaa @dhairya15 do let me know your views on these elements, I will make my sprites public so maybe you can clone them and add your changes to it :))) or anyway you would like to work
@riecatnor should we go for different rooms as suggested by you, if there will be multiple rooms then I think 80x80 will be too large what do you think?
I don't have much doubts this time, i will soon put up a post of the map with all the elements in which I'm thinking of adding disco lights too :p, alot comes to my mind when i think of the elements this is so awesome!
Feedbacks from the team is most welcome!
Damn! Looking great @swast1 . The cupcakes look especially cute :P
I was also checking out Tiled and Piskel. I came up with a few elements today
I made a little disco ball and added a colorful dance floor. I think I can refine this a lot further, but how is the general look?
<img alt="disco_ball.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/c3686f4f4c258602f83efa46fa1025a560ce0db5616e87781d470ecf2369f4ec-disco_ball.PNG" />

I thought a pool might look cool with the outdoor area so worked on that
<img alt="pool.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/1b0f0fa2df2f627a66b60e732d1c6ea3ecd45a93fe7671f91607c773aef9ceda-pool.PNG" />

I'm thinking of adding the juice bar that @riecatnor suggested next to the pool, worked on a few elements for that as well, a rough layout and some drinks
<img alt="juice_bar_rough.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/0b91cd6db209bdaa1b09d6dbd41ebc778002b2e462802b095a596799793add3e-juice_bar_rough.PNG" />

I thought I should seek feedback before proceeding any further. How are these looking so far?
These are AMAZING!!! specially the disco ball, loved it! I tried my hands on it but it was looking like a globe :pp Thank you for your reviews @dhairya15 <33
Damn, this is pretty rad! I was thinking to add a photo booth. @swast1 can you tell me the dimension which seems fitting for the photo booth on the map?
Hey @yavnikaa good to hear from you! are you planning to build a banner or a stage or something big? If you want to go for some stall like photo booth it will need a large space, I will suggest for 128px keeping the aspect ratio intact
if you're planning for a banner then 96 would be fine
Hope this helps :))
Hey! Made some progress today.
I tried making a juice bar as @riecatnor had suggested. Might work on a panda bartender tomorrow xD
<img alt="juice_bar.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/b7e116befc2509d366b84e44622c6d29869c72ff1fa52185901923a74964d83f-juice_bar.PNG" />
I tried a different orientation for the dance floor, I think I should add some more elements here on around it. Maybe I can make some dancing sprites?
<img alt="dance_floor.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/1c6d13927f3ed0d11d50f0e0b5fb87dc994207233cc1823cb6ca4eac800c214a-dance_floor.PNG" />
I also added 2 pool tables, I'm thinking of making that area into a tiny arcade of sorts. How does that sound?
<img alt="pool_tables.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/57cf9bd0874534642a102fb77423668c51117f793aeed4598dbfdd6d3420921a-pool_tables.PNG" />
I'm also adding elements around the pool.
<img alt="pool.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/48e5cbf662770334cda676f9686200785d390ba2d970ef2ee27ebf2b88f96df0-pool.PNG" />
This is how the layout is looking right now
<img alt="mini_map.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/af9099092a83488337b3f86ede78f787256079e1254042cd47e44850169bf080-mini_map.PNG" />
The upper region which has the dance floor, juice bar, and pool tables is the indoor space and the rest of it is outdoor. I've used wooden flooring for the indoor area and tried to make the outdoor look cobbled. I'm planning to have some plans and seating in the area that is blank right now and I'll add more elements near the pool. In the indoor space, I'm thinking of introducing a pizza counter and some seating, apart from other decorations.
How is it looking so far?
Hey @dhairya15 these are so cuteeee, I love them!
maybe for the seatings and table you are planning for you could get them from here! this tileset came along with the repo <img alt="tilesets_deviant_milkian_1.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/e251e96354f409a40dd8cb667d17a04372558f9aa172be1f43e66beffef3e750-tilesets_deviant_milkian_1.png" /> Absolutely love the idea of pool tables!
One thing I would like to suggest is naming each tile layer accordingly and as they are actually written in javascript we need to keep in mind a few layer names, like start, and exit. In these layer we will have to highlight areas from which the participant will start and exit respectively. this will make it easier to push the map to actually work with the code. The following tutorials are really good and was recommended in one of its blogs https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLu4oc9P-ABcOXNOyoAvnMyUwn_kkiVA5B
Cheers! Swast
Thanks @swast1 !
Little update from my side:
I improved the new 80x80 map, decreasing the office elements. it looks something like this: the elements look too small but on the map we will be walking on each 32px tile, us being of 32px so thing are going to be HUGEEE!! XD
<img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-09_at_2.27.39_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/50938b34e47a3fbac08d6ede864e629cc11aa5db3eda077bf3d4e369d3f43b2a-Screenshot_2021-04-09_at_2.27.39_AM.png" />
I tried keeping it look Fedorable, although I feel if the baloons are too many it almost looks like a birthday party :p
Added ascii and cpe logo.
added a dancing platform, pool outside in the lawn, The empty right hand side could be made more with like a huge food platter i was thinking of with doughnuts and cupcakes
more dancing pandas:

All suggestions and feedbacks are most welcome :))) <33 @riecatnor waiting for your feedback!
Wow! A lot of interesting work is being done here! @riecatnor I too would love to give my contribution here and collaborate with others. Since a lot as already been done, do you have any suggestion for what area I should start working on? Thankyou :)
Hey everyone! WOW!! I just love all the work and collaboration going on here :D ya'll are doing great with this one!
All of the elements I am seeing look pretty great so far- it is kinda hard to judge them standing alone- can we set up tests? What I will need to do this is a link based off your github repo, information in this comment https://pagure.io/design/issue/747#comment-725868
I am not too worried about restricting the sizes of the maps or number of rooms right now, this is truly experimental :D I think once we can test things, we will get a better idea. If we can get a couple rooms to test, I can put together a video call session for us next week to jump on? Let me know if you are interested and your availability for this, please! We can discuss finer details in #fedora-design as well :)
Hey @riecatnor thank you so much for the feedback!!!
We should definitely run the tests asap as we will need to update design according to the tests too I'll update the link of my repo and post it here soon. I was thinking about the map and thought why not make it a puzzle!! this could be fun for a vidcall session, fun to find way out of the puzzle maybe even meet some of the friends on your way! so here it is my next iteration
<img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-10_at_2.21.17_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/402e9b0f0d6a38df6074ef28318fa319e50622424b2d39486b739307f5036035-Screenshot_2021-04-10_at_2.21.17_AM.png" />
I'm in for the testing, maybe we should all decide a time for the session next week, whenisgood.net?
Looking forward to the feedbacks @riecatnor !!
Hi @riecatnor ! I prepared a draft for the Karaoke stage and area. Do let me know what you think.
Also, I followed an isometric view point. I hope this works.
@swast1 I used your Fedora balloons, since I thought they were just perfect! I hope it's okay with you :) btw, your work in this issue has been so amazing!
I would love some feedback on this. Thanks! <img alt="karaoke_room_map.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/5e9d2f4ae80395b6a4410bafa6dda18773eb08795cc38321396eb89fe8166e82-karaoke_room_map.png" /><img alt="karaoke_stage.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/a20faba1c741ffc0409937506faf95be946aee615c59207a31795509d4f92e00-karaoke_stage.png" />
Thank you so much @sunidhikashyap , I am more than happy to share my works I'm glad you liked it, it means alot to me! :))) <333
Hey team hope you're doing good! I pushed my work and after opening the link I'm stuck with this :(((
<img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.04.09_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/f10980f58cb926eb1d65763bd4b7c492c9cee84f11efafb5b9adb86a27ffc72f-Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.04.09_AM.png" />
I thought of pushing my map to the repository and ended up finding a huge chunk of information which i wish i knew before, I had to make my whole map again sadly and I had to go through a huge loss, with all the brilliant artworks by you guys, maybe this could help you all and save loads of time! also make our testing smoother
A few more suggestions as I went through the workadventure guide: we can even add videos and play songs in a particular area or when reach near an object or even open a website, making it more interactive
Looking forward to meeting you for the testing!!
Hey I just refreshed the link and I got the working map!!! Another thing to learn: The animations should be saved, which i did not and hence they are not working on my map and I need to make my tiles collidable too then I guess we will be good to go!
<img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.30.16_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/fb494f2b1982a8ccd5a06260975f0b0854ba9278138eac8a34590e83de2b6111-Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.30.16_AM.png" /><img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.30.37_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/a1f8ae302f3d4f1f793ce1a11fa9d76cc72b4e6a6e4b68637638f2c6833862d0-Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.30.37_AM.png" /><img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.31.11_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/209fab02ccef1314258be2fdb200746f94160cdcfe475ba32575bdf0245f4143-Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.31.11_AM.png" /> <img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.32.01_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/91007743a3b7a96e7e23e06f612910e2d137847c6066978a84a74e010d15f63d-Screenshot_2021-04-12_at_4.32.01_AM.png" />
Waiting for your feedbacks and suggestions @riecatnor on the maps!
I think we were having the same issue at the same time @swast1
Another thing you should note is that you cannot use tiled editor's collision functionality, that doesn't work and you'll run into issues if you add it. You have to add the custom property 'collides' for all, and that's all one can add for collisions.
Another point: objects aren't recognized by work adventure, so you can't use those!
Hey @dhairya15 , phew! we figured it out! we are on the same page I guess, as read in the guide, the object layer is for the character, that a floorLayer named object layer should be there between the bottom layer and top layer which will be the layer we walk on, The guide link provided at the start of the ticket provided by @riecatnor has literally everything in it https://workadventu.re/map-building Exactly that is how we make tiles collidable
Hey, @swast1 thanks for sharing your experience and summarizing the documentation provided by the work adventure. And yes, the start and floor layer are important for the map to exist but IMO if you are only looking to test a single room (or the entire map, given you have only a single floor), I found out that the exit layer is perhaps NOT a requirement. Because the exits are necessary when you want to switch to another map.
I found your method a bit intimidating, so I'd like to share a comparatively easy breakdown of “minimum” requirements for testing the map (for anyone new who might also find this intimidating):
1) Set a start position (for entry). 2) “floorLayer” is pre-defined in Json file and a must. Our main concern is this: every thing on top of this layer will be displayed above the character and vice versa. 3) Make the required tiles collidable. (Point to remember, we have an inbuilt keyword “collides” and whose type is “bool”.) 4) Finally, to run the test go to https://pagure.io/design/issue/747#comment-725868 this comment by @riecatnor . Every information available on https://workadventu.re/map-building/wa-maps this page of the documentation (setting an entry point in the next page). And in my experience so far, that’s we need for now. @swast1 if you couldn’t run the map without the exit layer, do let me know what error/bug you came across. I’d be happy to re-evaluate my observation. Thanks :)
@sunidhikashyap I'm not using an exit layer either. You're correct, they are for switching
I made some progress over the weekend, have a look
Added a DJ to the dance floor:
<img alt="dance_floor.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/6c30b15fba91f79318275ad57d34be2b271ab0aa11811db1b15912fc51f0c701-dance_floor.PNG" />
I finished with the outdoor seating area:
<img alt="patio.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/3cebc22748e9080fa6acae29857a450b45c2110a70f9965ae7461a91d4ca1d08-patio.PNG" />
Added more elements to the juice bar
<img alt="juice_bar.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/f08d5f391f83f7d5f3b5d95e8fee6aedc79f915d2811512383edc2e5a552f19d-juice_bar.PNG" />
Made an indoor seating area with some coffee machines

This is how the pool tables are looking
<img alt="pool_table.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/07c782e45fdd9aa8d03fb05c2572443686bbdd6ab3800a7a0e67228368f7037d-pool_table.PNG" />
Added elements to the swimming pool area as well
<img alt="pool_area.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/1b577dc281857462f951418b6d965fa994ece13d703120d704fd67c849eed8a4-pool_area.PNG" />
I have some space left, so I'll probably be working on my arcade. Also thinking of adding a pizza corner but that might end up making people hungry. Should I? :(
I'll be adding a banner with the logos on the wall between the dance floor and the juice bar
I tried testing it on my own and it's looking super cute! (I do want to refine and add more elements though). If anyone needs help with work adventure, feel free to contact me. I think I've managed to run into every possible problem xD
I'll be getting started on adding some animated elements as well. I'm going to start with the dance floor and disco balls.
Thoughts @riecatnor and everyone here?
Thank you @sunidhikashyap and @dhairya15 for pointing out the exit issue, my map already has one but there's no difference but yeah it's of no use if there's no switching so that will definitely save up some time. Actually I understood it as from the exit we will shift to a new scene which will be a site or something, I don't know maybe we could try this when we are testing it, it'd be cool too right! I guess @riecatnor could let us know if we are keeping separate rooms too if we could connect all our rooms it would be cool right, like a complete fedora world kindof thing!? Also thank you so much @sunidhikashyap to put them into correct words, aaa it was tough for me to explain what I wanted to tell too :P hehehe @dhairya15 your work looks fabulous :star2:
Thanks @swast1 ! Added a banner, here's how it's looking when it's deployed.
<img alt="banner.PNG" src="/design/issue/raw/files/0441b0812c4b6aee0ade89e66bdc01d55f1cc5ab5a6ffab410b1df5d7f055bf1-banner.PNG" />
Hi everyone! I did some more work on building my map. And I'd like to share my approach and progress here.
There were so many great suggestions from all of you regarding the elements to go into the map. So, I tried sketching the map first, in order to organize everything.
<img alt="map_planning.jpeg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/1a24fe6f2ce49eae0f16af660caa84a20cd269fa2e0bd9f0d3301396bc91b760-map_planning.jpeg" />
Then I began building the map in Tiled editor. I also built the map of the size 80 x 80 .
<img alt="map_draft_1.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/1181e9045fda30620237120451945ca4d00976df9c5dd743c686125af17429d6-map_draft_1.png" />
The work is still in progress and I have yet to add so many elements. But I am open to any suggestion mid-way.
Here's a close-up of the Swimming pool area.
<img alt="pool.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/016f17fa8b30a937a233761d8a9e4e707855f12fc9950f6a43b19b56f9588aec-pool.png" />
I will be finishing up before we meet for testing. I would love to know what you guys think about this!
@swast1 Of-course! We're here to collaborate after-all :) @dhairya15 Amazing work! truly
Feedback from meeting today:
TODO: - One person to take the entrance room area (yavnikaa) - Entrance room can link out to the other rooms
I'm definitely a tad late to the party, I didn't actually see this ticket marked as outreachy. Is there any room for additional contribution?
Welcome to this ticket @jcacovski ! We're planning to combine all the individual maps into a mini Fedora world, so the more the merrier!
You'll find all the information you need about the software we're using and the procedure (and issues you might face) on this thread itself.
You can explore completely new concepts, like @swast1 has gone for a super cool maze in her map and a puzzle theme in general :o Also, I think we should all try exploring different layouts and elements since it's all gonna be connected and not make different maps with the same elements jumbled :D
Looking forward to see what you come up with!
Hi team :)) As discussed in the meeting, I have started working on the entrance area. Tiled feels a little intimidating to use but hopefully I'll get comfortable with it soon.
Here is a rough layout I am following for creating sprites and the map. We can have four rooms connected on four ends. The crossroads will boast of a gallery, bean bags (to give the feel of waiting area) and directions pointing to the individual rooms. On the four corners of the room, we can have a photo booth, an ice cream parlour, developer's arena maybe(laptops, coffee and conversation) , and a theatre. A very rough illustration conveying the same.
<img alt="WhatsApp_Image_2021-04-18_at_20.11.51.jpeg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/bc9abe558b5e4ba3acf64bfd664f268ffc7cf1042b5530e9d8cdaf6a5f172e0d-WhatsApp_Image_2021-04-18_at_20.11.51.jpeg" />
Please let me know if this seems good enough. I am working on piskel right now and creating the sprites!
Looking forward to know your views and feedback everyone ^.^
Hey @dhairya15 @sunidhikashyap , I am having trouble making my tile layers collidable what i did was right clicking the layer>going to properties> adding collides to the property as a string and then saving it did i do something wrong in the procedure? also I saved my animations but they are not active on the map, can you please help me with this? Maybe I have not pushed it correctly on github, I will try it once again
Hey @jcacovski !! I love your approach @yavnikaa <3
Hi @swast1 you're adding the string as a custom property right? Did you check the box that appeared?
Yea as custom property, I right clicked on custom properties and selected add , and then wrote there collides with string selected and even saved it! But it's not working :( is it correct what I did?
@swast1 The property of collides must be a "bool" instead of a string. That should help :)
Hey folks! We took a good look at this during the Design Team Live Session, and things seemed to be progressing. I think we will want to get this in place by the beginning of next week.
Can folks provide their github links here so I can try testing them through my account this week?
@yavnikaa looking forward to the lobby design :) do let us know if you have questions or need assistance
Thanks everyone!
Hey @riecatnor , Here's my link to the map : https://play.workadventu.re/_/global/swastikaswast.github.io/feodra-map.github.io/map.json
I'm still having some issues with 1. some tiles, they are distorted on the map but absolutely fine on tiled 2. making the walls collidable, I even changed it to bool but it's still not collidable. The other changes I made have been updated but I'm stuck here. 3. Also the animations I made is not active on the site but they are working on my map and I even updated them by saving them. @riecatnor @sunidhikashyap @dhairya15 Thank you for your help, can you please suggest what else should i do?
I'm still having some issues with 1. some tiles, they are distorted on the map but absolutely fine on tiled
Been there :( I'm sure we are dealing with bugs or glitches here, some things are just working weirdly even if you are following each step.
Look at this https://github.com/thecodingmachine/workadventure/issues/674 The same issue is being faced by many others.
Could you share your GitHub link for the project? Once I'm done with mine, I could clone your code and maybe try out resolving some of them.
or
You could make a copy of your .json file and experiment with each element one by one and test on the map. That's what I've been doing :(
Yeah, there are some glitches with tiles at times. I think it might have to do with the fact that we're zooming in on work adventure and your image quality might not be good. I have distorted assets sometimes when I push my map and open the map right after, but then it gets fixed when I reload.
Also, about the animations, this is what the website says: "This feature is "work-in-progress" and not yet deployed on production servers" So I don't think we can go for animated elements :((
All the best for figuring out those bugs :( I'm here if you need any help!
Hey everyone! Trying to get the hang of the workflow for the tools here. For the time being I figured my little megaman-esque pixel pandas from #747 could fit nicely here. If anyone wants to use them before I get around to putting them in a room feel free. There's a native 1:1 image of the sprites and an upscaled 4:1 as well. <img alt="panda4x.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/ddd8465470f52f2fa1a5f7c860a3db273c0b1ba4fe22f3c662be9cfec8aa61bb-panda4x.png" /><img alt="pandanative.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/da180fde790a27fa7bc721e44219856dc942b21968949302468f3c592275548b-pandanative.png" />

Yeah Thank you @sunidhikashyap <333 , i will try testing each of them here's the link if you'd want to try out something: https://github.com/swastikaswast/feodra-map.github.io
Pretty confused as to how to actually get my map hosted and accessible. I have the new json file I've exported from tiled on github and am pointing to it as such:
https://play.workadventu.re/_/global/raw.githubusercontent.com/FlatPepsi/map1/master/map.json
but I'm just getting a black screen. I'm probably missing something obvious so any help is appreciated. In the meantime this is the design I'm working with for a sort of "VIP Lounge".
Tiles source file included below if anyone would be so kind as to take a look. <img alt="viplounge1.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/b160b0bb2816043b4732410d2e0c085d87b324f6722658fc72fccfddd2c7b2ff-viplounge1.png" />

Slight correction to the map dimensions, apologies for back to back submissions.
Hey @jcacovski , you have pushed it to github right? you need to clone the repo, that is download it to your laptop/computer provided by the workadventuremaps and make changes and then push them back to your repository the link to the repo to cone is: https://github.com/thecodingmachine/workadventure-map-starter-kit after opening this link, select the button 'use this template' and you will get an option to create your repository The whole process is here : https://workadventu.re/map-building if you have already done this process then sometimes it takes time to load even after pushing the changes made, maybe you coud try it after some time, it might get updated also the tmx file you have provided is showing the code, can you please send the ss maybe? it will be easier to figure out the bugs and issues Hope these help :)) we are here for any more doubts as well <3
Also, all the tiles you use should be present in your repo. I got a blank screen when I hadn't done that. I'd suggest carefully looking at the 'Getting Started' and 'WorkAdventure Maps' sections of the link with the demo that @swast1 shared carefully, following all the instructions to the dot.
Hi @riecatnor ! Here's the link to test the map : https://play.workadventu.re/_/global/sunidhi-kashyap.github.io/map_fedoraF34/map.json
The Karaoke system worked. For demo : The player needs to step on the "star" on the stage for the music to play. <img alt="Karaoke.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/ca97e8ce5a1f4af04bc344237cdd1576896c7b2ea25cbca2be89bdc3b5cd02ed-Karaoke.png" />

Apart from karaoke room, my map includes the big pool area and a picnic area.
I have yet to add so many elements to make it look good. I would love to get your guidance in the meeting, so I can move forward correctly. Thanks :) <img alt="pool.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/aa1f3f1ffc4c13cd6b715e10e6662ede4688ee837120f45ebf3b70e9d411afc7-pool.png" /><img alt="picnic.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/6bbb32f9845c45c8ffe1879d6e75797d77282a1a72c816e901262b25561e08f4-picnic.png" />

Super excited to test all our maps! :3
Hii. I am running a bit late as I had to urgently travel back to my hometown from college yesterday due to COVID. Sincere apologies that I couldn't complete my map for the testing today. I am still creating my assets and sprites while going through Tiled tutorials.
<img alt="Screenshot_264.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/7309949d0cec25080f1479185ba3a409cf3f0ab070b450499a458dc553ab3da2-Screenshot_264.png" />
I am extremely sorry. Please give me 2 more days and I will complete my map by 24th April. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. I'll put in all my time and efforts to compensate for the same the coming 2 days.

@riecatnor Bad news, I had to scrap my last design because of backend issues. Good news, I made a similar design and have it hosted and working with collision!!!!!! I figured we probably need some type of connector area for the transition to other rooms to become more seamless. This could also take away the burden of having to do a redesigning with multiple exits from other designers. Eagerly awaiting feedback on this one!!!!

@dhairya15 thanks so much :grin:

heyyy! I have been working on assets and sprites for the connector area: the lounge. Can we combine our maps or we can take a call on whose map will serve as the connector and who can design another room. I am fine with either :))
btw @riecatnor I had a concern. We're all working on huge 80*80 tile maps, which are supposed to be suitable for a crowd of 100. If we have 5-6 of these, don't we end up with a high chance of dispersing our crowd too much?
My new map is of 100x100, I expanded it a bit for the puzzle.
Finally figured out external tilesets, and am utilizing an excellent pack with a free license from itch.io to make a sort of courtyard area. On the bottom right of the map (currently relatively empty), there's room for several exits to link other areas. I have two right now, they don't lead anywhere, just a proof of concept.

@jcacovski I think you should take a second opinion about the tileset because I noticed even if they're free they usually have some license involved
Love these Farmville vibes tho :))
@dhairya15 This is what the author specified for licensing:
License - For commercial or personal use. - Use and edit freely. - Not redistribute or resell this assets. - It can be used for game development and other productions.
<img alt="license.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/f3ad1f6f4052326a77fb4f44232811591c06fdf83a6c65219d2ef31cc0da665f-license.png" />
I really hope that's flexible enough to be acceptable here but if something concrete like GPL or BSD is required that definitely makes sense.
Hello. I need some help. I pushed my changes on github but I am still getting the old default map on testing. Any idea why is this happening?
Github repo link: https://github.com/Yavnikaa/f34-release-map/tree/master Hosted link: https://play.workadventu.re/_/global/yavnikaa.github.io/f34-release-map/map.json
Update: Now it's a black screen after opening even though I have placed all the files at the same location. Is it because I haven't specified the floor layer, object layer for characters and start currently?

Yes the floor layer is important as it will be the layer where the character will move. To summarise these layers are important: 1. start: where your character lands on the map, make sure you add some tiles on this layer and the are is big enough for people to land here and that people wont step on to each other. 2. floorLayer (object): here the character walks and moves around, this is important without this the map won't start and the character won't walk. 3. exit: this will be important for your map @yavnikaa as people will be exiting from your map to the other maps, make sure you make each map one exit, you will need to add the link to the next map for connecting them. PS: all the layers above the floorLayer will be coming on top of the character on the map and vice versa for layers below the floorLayer - Also don't forget to add collides bool to tile properties select a tile>tile settings > right click the tile > tile properties > custom properties > (right click) add properties > write there collides and select the option "bool" and tick it.
I hope this helps, stay safe!
Hello everyone!!,hope you all ok! I was looking at this ticket and I was impressed! wow! beautiful job guys! I did not know about this tiled tool and I started to do some research, it is very fun to play and create the maps. I made one to test the tool and just wanted to share them with you! I Use the previously shared elements. since you are super advance. I share the github link : https://lvillalba.github.io/fedoraMap/ @riecatnor i will continue to test more maps! <img alt="map.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/692330c91d94f61af158d348588a53de1aed458c93cd6741fb7754168bc3a08d-map.png" />
Hey guys, I'm having some issues with the tiles, they are good on my tiled map but when i push them they shift from their original space, can anyone help me out with this?
i was facing the same issue on the puzzle but then solved it by constantly shifting them on the map and pushing after each change. But i could not figure out what exactly helped it to stay in its place, am i missing out something here? Welcome to the ticket @lauravillalba <img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-25_at_2.14.35_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/990ff9220e27adcd9ee05ea1aaad6f0906243fb93505ddd5aba3ca7bc04ee53b-Screenshot_2021-04-25_at_2.14.35_AM.png" /><img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-25_at_2.16.20_AM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/82c0434baae1d34a6c064be6f83257a8bd7bba9ea1c91f09031aab412f5e30e5-Screenshot_2021-04-25_at_2.16.20_AM.png" />
Hii. I have created four separate spaces in my map: co-working space, carnival, theatre and food court while the fountain, park and a photo gallery connecting them. Each of these spaces have the exit linking to another map. I was thinking to set up separate jitsi meets for each space. Is it a good idea @riecatnor ? Also, for the theatre area, do you have any specific video related to Fedora release which we can embed there?
Attaching some snapshots from my map:
<img alt="Screenshot_268.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/d9c96e7c09321df9ddfdb7065a52ca82c50fcdfc793bc9e6f9fe20b8c3bd1ac5-Screenshot_268.png" /><img alt="Screenshot_269.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/17b2ab6a2464bf7b85a677e6481f272a832a03da7e102007aab69cf87dc917eb-Screenshot_269.png" /><img alt="Screenshot_270.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/1b425e112bd03c7f8513f7616162e349e96b50b134988b0e1b051737805100d8-Screenshot_270.png" />
The last time I pushed my changes, I again got a black screen but @dhairya15 and @swast1 are helping me figure out and hopefully we'll solve the issue soon and be able to test the map on work adventure :))
I added Jitsi meets to my map today. If anyone needs any help with special zones, feel free to reach out :))
Hii. Still doing the final touches and adding more elements to my map including the direction boards for the other maps. I am thinking to connect all the four waiting lounges together via one jitsi meet. What do you think about this @riecatnor ?
Have connected all the four maps though. Its working fine.
You can check out the map at: https://yavnikaa.github.io/fedora-34-map/ The repository link for the same is - https://github.com/Yavnikaa/fedora-34-map
One concern I had is that once a user leaves my map and goes to other map, say sunidhi's map, there is no way that they can return to my map and hence they lose the chance to explore ither maps. We should discuss about this and maybe have a compulsory exit in other maps leading to my map so that our user can go to various maps through my map. Does this make sense? @swast1 @dhairya15 @sunidhikashyap @jcacovski
Also, the left side of my map might feel incomplete right now. Really sorry but had quite a tough time fixing the infinite issues I faced. Will complete my map and get it ready for testing by tonight. :))
Finally, my map is ready! Just figuring jitsi link configuration and adding the collisions. Rest is good to go. All the maps are connected from mine. :))

Really had fun designing it when things started working out XD Looking forward to the feedback and any other suggestions for the map :))

An outline of the entire layout here.
Unrelated to the current developments, but I got an idea today
We could create a Fedora museum of sorts using Tiled! Maybe as a future project? I'm not sure about all the content or where this would be used, I just thought it was a cool idea >.<
Some things I thought of were: 1. A progression of features/different releases 2. A gallery for artwork 3. A hall of fame 4. I noticed work happening on the 'Classic logo', so maybe a classic section with things like the old logo and a note about them
The fun thing is that all of these can have a relevant link attached to them, just like a museum gives you the option to get additional information
What does everyone think? :D

That sounds extremely rad. We can have a section on Fedora wallpapers too. We can even use this museum space to conduct watch parties or group streams of the latest Fedora ventures by creating a theatre like space and embedding youtube links. Totally up to work on such a project! ^.^
Update: I added collisions and jitsi support. All the rooms are connected from my map. My map is complete from my end now. Looking forward to testing it out tomorrow! :))
Also, what are we doing for connecting the other maps back to my waiting lounge?
YAY @yavnikaa :heart: !!! Yes I will add an exit/back to lounge area on my map to get back to yours. @dhairya15 yes I was also thinking of adding links to fedora websites and a zine show in the maps. The idea is absolutely brilliant!! but i'm not sure if we are allowed to do so, we will need a confirmation by @riecatnor I guess. BTW any leads on the distortion of tiles?
Hi everyone! @yavnikaa you connected all of our maps soooo amazingly!! And I've noted your point about the exit that'll connect to yours.
@swast1 @dhairya15 @jcacovski All of your work has been inspiring me to push forward and improve my map! So I added a few more elements and did some final touch.

Added instruments. Added banners. Made 3 tiles for 3 different song options for Karaoke. 1) Stand by me (Ben E. King) 2) Never Gonna give you up (Rick Astley) 3)Don't Stop believing (Journey) Looking forward to discuss it in the upcoming meeting.

It was so great working with everyone in this :))
I have made the changes in my map as discussed yesterday. The only thing I was unable to do was removing the initial popup. Looked it in the docs and github but can't find a way. Any ideas anyone?
Hey @yavnikaa ! When you go to the "start" layer of your map, did you verify the custom property section ? Although I understand you must have tried checking these. I could look up your code in a while for this.
I too made the exit on my map, leading back to the lobby. I want to set up the jitsi meet, what did you put the "room name" as?
I did try that 'start' layer thing but it ain't working. ://
As far as the room is concerned, you will need to open jitsi.org and can create any room there for your jitsi meet. Put the same room name as the string value in your layer property :))
So I downloaded your code and even I couldn't possibly find the bug. I don't understand why it's opening the workadventure homepage!
My speculation : Did you use an existing workadventure template? If yes, then we could see if that template somehow linked it's map to this url.
And btw thanks for the tip on Jitsi :)
@yavnikaa try checking all your layers for an openURL I'd say
@dhairya15 I actually did that. In fact I checked each floor-tile from the set for the url. Sadly, no luck :(
The URL will be in the layer properties, not the tiles

@dhairya15 Actually, these properties can also be customized per tile. For eg, I added "collides" directly to the floor tile instead to a separate layer(so I don't have to repeat the process for each required layer), get it? That's what I was talking about.
And checking the layer properties was the first thing I did, instinctively :)
I wanted views on if the size of the door was appropriate, as it varies on every map and this is something which connects the map so we could keep all of them same maybe? to make it look like a game? because this is very different from the one yavnika has and i guess dhairya has a arch
<img alt="Screenshot_2021-04-29_at_11.55.25_PM.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/f500724376a5b9fb35cbdd72c4175b6d6b6bd8b4b0c2e8cf73653f03d4beb45e-Screenshot_2021-04-29_at_11.55.25_PM.png" />
I'm not sure about keeping the same door because all our maps have different aesthetics, also I wouldn't be able to fit such a large element anywhere now :(
The door is really cute, but it looks a little big compared to the player and none of the other elements seem to be tilted like that so that might look odd. You could try exploring the tileset @jcacovski used, too
Yea the large size of the door was intentional :)) to make it look like a door to a different world! Alright let's go with our doors!
