We have some videos to upload from a recent Diversity & Inclusion Team Meetup and we need cover slides so we can stick that in front and upload them to youtube.
To make our uploaded videos more professional/presentable
I will upload various pieces of art we used for the event and they can remixed to create the design. Remember to keep it simple :) Dimensions should be 1600px by 900px

Hi @riecatnor I'll love to fix this issue.
Please find below sample designs for cover slides designed with the dimensions: 1600px by 900px <img alt="Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-54-16-74.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/84e24cf560d4a9c2d86d375a19812cd6a3c7556c03ed0c51d2f0898f6c99e012-Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-54-16-74.jpg" /> <img alt="Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-54-03-78.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/a7e63ac4532e6d9e6d72da453dda35415f8855f099bac22cbee97ea541561d84-Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-54-03-78.jpg" /> <img alt="Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-53-51-26.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/dc3a214d86e6d21f961ab5933de10a17c4d5a25ab0020a3b896422ae03edeb98-Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-53-51-26.jpg" /> <img alt="Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-53-36-23.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/ceba944f43c4affd99b7a282c79389719aba94929026245d3b4d6565afab1a13-Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-53-36-23.jpg" /> <img alt="Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-53-23-47.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/f039b8ac60bca18b66715d4a8451c54e05436401eda4cf210dfe51bc5fef7140-Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-53-23-47.jpg" />
hi @mfonobong thanks for working on this! I am enjoying the composition from Screenshot_2021-03-30-15-53-51-26.jpg the most, the centered version. I have a few recommendations for your next draft: - The inclusion of the badge is great! It looks like it lost some of its properties though. The panda should be cut off, I don't see the drop shadow, etc. What program are you using? If you are unable to process the SVG with the current software you are using, drop in the PNG instead so that the design is retained. - I like the blue background with the white text you use in the last file, I would incorporate that into the centered composition. - What typeface(s) are you using for this? - The source files I provided are a pretty good base for this, you could just edit the document size, drop in the badge, center it all, and done :) Here is what that looks like, the file is in my comment above.

Okay @riecatnor I'll work on it soonest
Hey @riecatnor can I still contribute to this issue?
HI @dhairya15 sure!
Hey @riecatnor ! I came up with these.
I was trying to go for something minimalistic yet striking. I've used sans serif typeface.
My main pain points right now are: 1. I struggled to incorporate the violet in the sticker with the rest of the cover 2. I found positioning the logo tricky, I still think it makes it look a little imbalanced in some of these. I've omitted the logo in some of these. 3. Limiting the color palette was also tricky because the sticker is pretty colorful 4. I wanted to go for a dark background to make it striking, but it becomes a trade-off between making the sticker pop and making the text pop because I think the sticker looks best with a white background. I've added options with both.
Had some issue with the attachments.

@riecatnor I wasn't sure if the usage of the provided logo (or a remix thereof) was mandatory for this issue. Given the simplicity of the message being conveyed I believe it would prove difficult to fit an asymmetrical element into the design in a satisfying manner. As always CC and feedback is greatly appreciated.
Hi @riecatnor here is a second draft based on your feedback.

Hey @riecatnor can i contribute to this issue?
Hey folks, lots of great work happening on this ticket :D I will reply with one comment to try to condense things.
One important point that is applicable to everyone's submissions here and on other tickets: - Refer to the Logo usage guidelines for questions of color and typeface. For example, we use Open Sans, Montserrat, or Comfortaa as our typefaces of choice. It is important to maintain our brand across all spaces. We do that by adhering to the guideline :) https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo/UsageGuidelines
@dhairya15 I think option 4 is strongest. A few recommendations for the next draft: - I think you can remove the Fedora logo from the top right hand side and change the text to the following: "Fedora Diversity & Inclusion Team Meetup" - Switch the typeface to one of the approved options - the light blue is really nice, but still a bit flat. Maybe try adding a linear or radial gradient with a medium blue to light blue - Please limit the designs you upload from 3-5
@jcacovski it is not mandatory, but I think it would help improve your design. A few recommendations for your next draft: - Switch the typefaces to one of the approved choices - add in some contrast- all your elements are about the same size, medium/small. Make the title larger - Use the Fedora colors somehow :)
@mfonobong nice improvements. I have some recommendations for your next draft: - Switch the typeface to one of the approved choices - Instead of recreating the badge art work, you should reimport or use a PNG version - In your designs I am preferring the badge artwork over the logo :) so go with that! let's just get that badge looking correct - Change the spelling to "The Fedora Project" - I think version 5 or 9 is the strongest - Please limit the options you upload to 3-5 designs
@mahnoor123 absolutely!
Hey @riecatnor ! Thanks for the feedback. I tried adding a gradient, switched to Open Sans, and removed the Fedora logo. What do you think about these?
<img alt="5.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/d384a8f6981314a9a682877a51e8106d9f6c03f191562e99e8c920ac54a6f734-5.png" /> <img alt="6.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/8a66d1a1c4352e689e5adbdbc2b4f0e921e181ee028cfbb27e1a0f72f35f5ced-6.png" /> <img alt="7.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/938f8fceb6694439f6ee2f887790bd62146fbecbe3a6a58ec6612fccca3b4120-7.png" /> <img alt="8.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/bc898c5d63ed19dfca8ffb0fe83f36e368dd6a6c2a88f00a7d1e67fd6d54d43a-8.png" />
@dhairya15 number 6 is lookin' good! I think you can do just a couple refinements here to improve: - Open sans is more of a reading font, I would try moving away from all caps to caps and lowercase. Right now it is actually a bit hard to read - The horizontal line is doesn't line up with the large text, or small text, so it kinda feels a bit out of place. After you adjust the text to include lowercase, I would adjust the line to match up with the width of the title text. - Since you are using a line above, try replacing the dot you have on the last line of text to a dash
Looking forward to your next draft!
Thank you for the feedback @riecatnor . I've made a new draft with the changes you suggested, please have a look!

@riecatnor I took my initial concept of the race/LGBT diversity in the accents and added quite a bit of personality to it. Font was corrected back to Open Sans bold/semi-bold as initially intended, Fedora logo and colors implemented. Looking forward to your feedback. <img alt="diversitydraft2.png" src="/design/issue/raw/files/1afdaea2f79511a822adca5a150b4e51a2d1674b5762dc1b1ad2281c1161c2ab-diversitydraft2.png" />
Is it still to late to contribute?
Hello So I worked on this in figma any feedback would be appreciated. Also curious does this count as a contribution Im new to this. Thank you.

Hi @riecatnor ! I too would like contribute to this issue.
I have prepared 2 drafts for now. And I have followed Fedora's guidelines for color and typeface. Here I have used Montserrat typeface.
Draft 1 is simply a little modification of " coverpic.svg " that you shared in this thread. With Draft 2, I tried something different by including a photo from Fedora's social media, in order to display the diverse community of Fedora. I'm not sure if it works or not. Do check and let me know :) Thankyou <img alt="draft_1.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/6fcc26d74145c7ca231892926c4d64931d16c2143cb10d045bbed17eca7ead7d-draft_1.jpg" />

I really like that first one. Very simple, but it pops really nicely too.
@jaydaba I am curious how yours would look if you switched the texts of the titles between your two pictures. I think there isn't enough contrast between light and dark, I love the purple background of the second one though.
@sunidhikashyap I really like how the first one pops . Very smooth looking as well!
Thankyou ! I'm glad you liked it :))
Hello everyone! I was reading this ticket and I came up with an idea, to use the fedora colors in the phrase "Diversity & Inclusion", I thought it would be fun to play a little color in this case, I don't know what you think? here I leave my little contribution. <img alt="Mesa_de_trabajo_1-100.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/7e915699413504cb5df2a019f6a3f873012423fa49798e29dcd41491ad6af5b8-Mesa_de_trabajo_1-100.jpg" />
Hey folks, I will comment my replies to everyone in one ticket to save some space here :)
@dhairya15 lookin' good! The design from https://pagure.io/design/issue/749#comment-724956 looks complete to me :) Feel free to count this as done and look into some other tickets.
@mahnoor123 nice first drafts! I think the blue one is more Fedora-y so let's move forward with that one. A couple notes for your next draft: - I like the inclusion of the badge artwork, but it is kinda just hanging out and feels a bit out of place. What if you moved it to the left side of the design, then the vertical line, then the text on the right hand side? I think this would help - Since you are moving the badge to the left, I think you can make the two pieces of text just a bit closer together and centered in the design. - I like the white you used for "The Fedora Project" but since it is the only white object it is really sticking out.. I would try making the date & associated graphic white as well. Looking forward to the next version :)
Hi @jcacovski nice improvements :) I like that you are keeping it simple, though I am still not sure it's fitting the Fedora aesthetic. Here are a couple recommendations: - Thicken the stroke on your rectangles, and give them a bit more space between - It reminded me of a set of video screens on a conference call, so what if you enlarge the people graphics you have inside and then crop off the bottom of the figures? - Instead of using a drop shadow on the figures, try using a stroke to give them definition from the background - Try adding a color to the background, or maybe inside the rectangles - Make the text a bit bigger and use the space you have there Looking forward to your next draft!
Hi @jaydaba thanks for coming up with a draft for this task! I think the blue design is stronger, though I am not sure it is at the right size. I have some recommendations for you to move forward: - Use open sans or montserrat typefaces, we are deprecating the use of Comfortaa - The gradient on the text is making it difficult to read. Make it all white - Watch the spacing between the underlines and the text below them, give some more space here - It looks like you are having a similar issue importing the svg into a different piece of software than inkscape. Instead, use the PNG file so that badge artwork is retained. - Remove the fedora logo from the background, the color is nice tho :) this is to make sure we are adhering to logo guidelines Looking forward to the next draft!
Hi @sunidhikashyap nice work! I like the first version as well :) I have a few notes for your next draft: - I am not sure we want to represent the fedora logo with that stroke like object around it. You could try removing it, or making the object fill around the logo as well? I think the logo might look off because it is dark blue, and so is the background.. so it is getting lost but then there is a bright white object around there. Play around with this and see what can be done - Change "The fedora project" to "The Fedora Project" - The text for "TEAM MEETUP" and the line of text below are almost lining up. Make those line up to give it some cohesion and make sure all of it is centered Can't wait to see the next iteration :)
Hi @lauravillalba thanks for jumping in on this! Loving the colors and i think you can make some small adjustments to make this really Fedora-y :) - Remove the stroke from "Diversity & Inclusion" or make it thicker - right now it is making the edge of the text look a bit messy and is hard to see. - Put "Diversity" on one line and "& Inclusion" on the next and center those a bit more in the design- maybe even enlarge the text a bit? - Push the other elements down and make them a bit smaller - Try playing with opacity/more shapes/more colors on your side elements. You could turn down the transparency and layer a couple more shapes on top? Looking forward to the next draft :)
Amazing work here folks! Thanks for all the effort
Hi @riecatnor I made the recommended changes, in terms of colors I have 2 options, what do you think? <img alt="youtubeCover.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/4c45d72b7a13aa70429eedb2608b6310a54ceb7de1a9716e589231c009550f8f-youtubeCover.jpg" /><img alt="youtubeCoverblue.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/ff89db1b08339f79a81d17943f07aebe0de7f70cc983772e330e1d5cbec37a2b-youtubeCoverblue.jpg" />
Hi @riecatnor i have made the recommended changes please check it out. <img alt="file1-modified.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/35eae4caf8a91dc632d7cf5163feece39edfe5094b852c3481d13838539e3ef1-file1-modified.jpg" />
@riecatnor As always, thanks for the quick and thorough feedback. After some thought I decided to forego the race/LGBT diversity theme, because the message of the color coding is directly implied by the subject matter of the slide in the first place. Having said that:
I've thickened the weight and increased the distance of the would-be video screens and switched to the fedora logo's color scheme for the entire draft. My main focus for feedback at the moment is placement of the logo on the slide. I'm finding it difficult to place in a satisfying fashion after implementing symmetry onto the rest of the slide. Looking forward to further feedback.

A slight alteration to the background of the panels. Apologies for the back-to-back comments.
Hi @riecatnor ! Thanks for the feedback and encouragement :)
So I came up with a few iterations based on what you said. I hope these ones work. Although I think I'll keep thinking upon some more ways to make the logo pop at the same time maintain the simplicity of the design.
Do let me know if I am going in the right direction with this one. Thanks

@riecatnor Also, I experimented a little by totally removing the object behind the logo.
To solve the problem of the logo being lost in the background, I applied a drop-shadow. (Took a little inspiration from the soft-UI button trend)
But I guess we cannot alter a logo like that... I'm not sure. Please guide me through this. Thanks :) <img alt="draft_drop_shadow.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/56b2b165e3047ab0ef8441b8a94244228ef0bb362ce2d5d1a3007212fedd7462-draft_drop_shadow.jpg" />
Hey folks, thanks for continuing to work on this! I see improvements all around :D Comments below.
@lauravillalba nice! This is getting close, I have a few small recommendations: - I prefer the version with the blue shapes on the edges.. but you could also try Fedora colors in the other option and they might fit better. - Right now the spacing between the different lines of text seems a bit random. Let's try to organize to guide the viewers eyes through. Bring "Diversity & Inclusion" down closer to the middle. - The "Team Meetup" text and the text for the date look like the same size. The Team Meetup aspect is a bit more important, so I think it would be good to increase the size of that "Team Meetup" graphic, and move it closer to "Diversity & Inclusion" than the date
@mahnoor123 this looks great! You are also very close to completion, just a couple small notes: - It looks like the drop shadow on the badge got adjusted incorrectly somehow, this is how it should look: https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/diversity--inclusion-virtual-team-meetup - you can try to adjust what you have or re-import the badge artwork fresh - Are you using a "line object" in inkscape for your line? If you are, you can adjust the end caps to be round, which would be a nice reflection of the roundness of the badge artwork :)
@jcacovski lookin good! I like the evolution here. I have some recommendations for you to move forward: - Make sure you are using the Fedora colors, you can find them here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Logo/UsageGuidelines#Colors - There is also a palette you can download to use in inkscape with the fedora colors here: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/badges/_attachments/palettes/badges_fedora_palette.gpl - I think you have all the elements you need there, just a matter of rearranging and adjusting a bit - I think you can reduce the size of your rectangles, they are pushing up close to the edge and look a bit crowded - Right now the title text is really not very noticeable - I would give that some space, maybe remove one of your rectangle and put the text there like you had in a previous draft. I would also make "Diversity & Inclusion" & "Team Meetup" bold or semi bold - You could use the Fedora logo with the logo and wordmark, it might help you balance it with the other elements
@sunidhikashyap wow, great! correction_1. jpg looks good to go :) just one small change for you: - can you remove the "TM" from the logo please? we are no longer required to use that, you must have an older file - please provide a source file and a final png file Thanks for your work on this!
