With the new logo, I think it would be nice to have a Fedora CoreOS t-shirt design. A bonus point would be if we could somehow personalize the t-shirt by having a place to print a IRC nickname or GitHub handle. This would be nice way to recognize folks contributing to FCOS.
@cverna Sounds like a cool idea. For the shirt personalization - do you know how many shirts roughly you'd be printing? It seems like maybe a good use case for the direct to garment process but I think financially that makes sense in smaller runs, could be like $15-20/shirt depending on vendor.
Are you thinking just the logo & IRC nick / github handle or is there any slogan or theme you're thinking of?

Hi sorry, I let this without a reply for a while.
I think for the personalization it would be roughly in the 30 - 40 range. I am not sure if this is something where we could use the Red Hat coolstuffstore.
About the design, we can keep it simple and just go with the logo :-).
Thanks

@cverna would something like this work?
<img alt="Fedora-CoreOS_shirt.jpg" src="/design/issue/raw/files/3bff003e72388fcf24ab9727447cda0c7dadf8f0d5e9c6a7d0aea9aa2568f24f-Fedora-CoreOS_shirt.jpg" />
This is the vendor the cool stuff store uses and one of the shirt options that is more affordable: http://shop.planetlogoinc.com/ProductDetails/?productId=550187719&imageId=24120913&tab=Tile&referrerPage=ProductResults&refPgId=525137991&referrerModule=PRDREB

The 'COREOS' text feels a little bit too big but this LGTM overall.
Yeah looks good to me, I shared it with the CoreOS team too to have more feedback  .
Thanks
Looks great! Thanks!
@cverna sweet I can adjust the size of the COREOS @siosm... and pending that, @cverna let me know what vendor you're going with so I can prep for them. I haven't worked with the new Cool Stuff Store vendor so I need to know what format they need. The old vendor needed no-opacity EPS vector files o_O
Thanks Mo, yes I think going with the Cool Stuff Store might be the easiest :-)
@cverna OK! Attached is a print-ready CMYK PDF with spot colors that the cool stuff store vendor should be able to work with. Send them this PDF and also the jpg shirt mockup above so they can see the intended placement. I am also attaching a PNG here so you can see how I scaled down the "CORE OS" text relative to the fedora text and logo. Let me know if you have any issues at all - closing this ticket as fixed but do not hesitate to comment further if anything is needed! Cheers.

Thanks @duffy. I'm wondering about two small points: - You mention a "scaled down COREOS" text but the images look exactly the same for me as far as I can see, thus I'm wondering if you sent us the version you planned to. - The 'O' and 'S' in "OS" appears to be using a slightly different font/size/boldness from the 'O' and other letters in "Core". But it looks good so thanks a lot.
The font difference seems intentional (https://fedoramagazine.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/introducing-fedora-coreos-816x345.png) so we can probably ignore this one.
@siosm it's the correct font (montserrat) the fedora logotype font isnt used for secondary logotypes in an arrangement like this. It is in fact scaledndown significabtly in proportion to the Fedora. It was scaled down centrally from the bottom. You can get a hint at how tall and wide the CoreOS text was by looking at the margins on the bottom and sides.... it used to extend into that space. You can also look at the position of the fedora f relative to the first O in CoreOS... in the original f lined up with right center of a bigger O. In the new design the f lines up with the left side of a smaller O.
Also note as I mentioned above ‐ the photo mockup is the same as the original above, it's just for placement indication for the vendors. It's the black PNG i attached that is uodated for you to see the difference in text size.
Hope this helps!
Oh, I see it now. Thanks!
Shirts would be just for the CoreOS contributors, correct?
I thought that we would let anyone order one as they wish. Is this maybe about paying them for contributors?
@cverna Any idea how should we make that tshirt happen for order in the store now?
I have been looking to get funding from mindshare to have around 70 tshirts done. That would be targeted to thanks folks contributing to Fedora CoreOS --> https://pagure.io/mindshare/issue/313
@cverna Any idea how should we make that tshirt happen for order in the store now? It is tricky since special order on the cool stuff store requires a certain number of tshirt, with different size etc ...
We could also look at getting some more for Flock or Nest later this year. Open to ideas
Red Hat OSPO can pay for shirts for CoreOS contributors.
If you want more CoreOS shirts than that, we'll need to discuss it.
