The Diversity & Inclusion Team is working on the upcoming "Fedora Week of Diversity" (Week of October 3-9th). This is an evolution of "Fedora Women's Day". FWD this year will focus on publishing a series of content that we have collected. Specifically a short video series that will go up on Youtube. After we establish a suitable logo, we can make banners, socials, cover slides/graphics for the videos.

To make the first Fedora Week of Diversity a success and to showcase the skills of our awesome Design Team :)

recommendation

Start with logo based off of previous FWD logo as well as recommended logo variations. I took this on, and will attach 5 options and the source file to this ticket.
Review, feedback, edits. Rinse & repeat until we are satisfied.
Produce a title slide and some overlay graphics for the video series. This is important to do first (after the logo)as the folks will start editing the videos next week.
Create a banner to go on Fedora Websites. The Web & App team prefers about a month but we have @lilyx on deck to help with this as soon as it is ready.
Create a "poster" design for social media platforms

Hey @riecatnor! I really like both opts #3 and #4. #4 seems like a very nice update of the pre-existing diversity logo, there's a lot more I think you could do with it, although it is a bit busy and the eye gets drawn around a lot. I think a focus on the "fwd" text with the other elements standing back a bit would be a good idea to try for a next iteration of #4.

For #3 - I love the fwd in comfortaa typemark you've made in both of them. I also love how "fwd" also stands for forward... like let's move forward and improve diversity, that's how we get better and improve, that's how we move forward, you know? So an idea for iterating on this one is maybe to introduce a mark, maybe a forward facing arrow of some sort, or maybe using the Fedora bubbles and heart but in a horizontal composition that gives a forward-directed (moving right) feeling of movement. DO you know what I mean?

I wonder if an iteration riffing off the "forward" movement idea

I started work on a layout for the video series.. thoughts or preferences on these options?

Hi folks! I met with @jonatoni to review the video backgrounds. We decided we prefer the simpler design, but we want to use the colorful logo design. I came up with the following, and as we are on a tight deadline, I propose we move forward with this :) we can always iterate and improve for next year.
