#5 Kernel enablement
Opened 3 years ago by dcavalca. Modified 11 months ago

https://github.com/AsahiLinux/linux (asahi branch)

Probably worth taking a parallel approach here:
- on one side, start enabling the knobs mentioned in https://github.com/AsahiLinux/docs/wiki/DesktopKernel in the stock Fedora kernel, so the already-upstreamed bits will start working
- on the other, package the linux-asahi tree in copr for the time being (as mainline isn't usable yet)

It is not particularly easy to use an alternate source tree because of the integration of the RHEL kernel workflow for the Fedora kernel.

I've got a kernel tree now that I can use to start pulling in the work by the Asahi folks, though: https://gitlab.com/fedora-asahi/kernel-asahi

Let's see how this goes...

Just gonna tag this here so we keep an eye on the kernel-ark version also:

@marcan and @asahilina have made tremendous progress on upstreaming Asahi patches. We're getting pretty close to having baseline enablement in the main Fedora kernel.

The first step is getting the 16k flavor scaffold upstreamed, which is in progress: https://gitlab.com/cki-project/kernel-ark/-/merge_requests/2615
