Since I've been attending Flock, there has been a small tradition of people swapping candies and sweets from around the world. This year, it's getting a little better advertising before Flock, and we have ten people signed up to participate, with hopefully more to come in this next week. :candy: :chocolate_bar: :lollipop:
Since this little tradition is getting a little more publicity, I thought it might be fun to make it more concrete with a badge to thank people for participating and lugging their sweets hundreds or thousands of miles to share with other Fedorans at Flock.
This badge would be manually awarded to the FAS accounts that I have listed in the Infinote pad, and I assume a few walk-ins or people who didn't RSVP would show up too.
I liked the idea of replacing the box in the United Packages of Fedora badge with some sort of candy wrapper ( :candy: ) or other thing representative of sweets. I'm also not sure if we could incorporate the Flock branding in there somewhere. But maybe basing the artwork off of this one would be easier to do in short notice.
So I have two questions for this badge:
I know it's totally last minute, but I thought it would be a fun idea to have a badge and a lot of the interest appeared today, or else I would have filed this sooner.

I (personally) like the idea of having a badge for this (I think Flock-specific badges are fun), but I know in the past there's been some hesitance to expand the number of badges too much. I'm uncertain as to what the current policy is.
@duffy might know more, or just tell me I'm misremembering
@jflory7 it sounds like a fun one, but I agree with @sross - we do seem to have enough Flock badges. Would love to hear what everybody else thinks?
Yeh the tradition is one badge per event as it unfairly rewards those e the means / funding to travel to events. Flock has typically been the only exception w an attendee and a party badge (we dropped speaker this yr bc of the "do" emphasis.)
