#602 Fedora Podcast Interviewed Badge
Closed: pushed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by x3mboy.

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):
- You've been interviewed in the Fedora Podcast

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is
awarded for certain kinds of activities:

1) What are those activities?
- The Podcast is being handle with interviews from several parts of the project, and it's being published bi-weekly, it's running and produced by the Marketing team. Until now there are 2 podcast episodes out and we want to attract people to be interviewed and talk about what we do in Fedora.

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans?
users? sponsors?)
- Contributors. Any contributor that is in a team/WG/SIG can be interviewed and awarded with this badge.

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)
- To get attraction to the project and to their teams.

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)
- The podcast had an scheduled for 7 episode and we add one more topic each 2 weeks. This badge will be awarded 1 person each 2 weeks.

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console?
by using a web interface?)
- They request the interview to the Marketing ML and the interview is a GNU Ring video call.

Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?
- Podcasts are basically an audio that is realeased via RSS. The RSS logo is freely available and maybe something related with an interview like 2 people/pets talking in front of a microphone.

Cool idea! This falls into the community category

I like it! How can we have this approved?

@x3mboy, @riecatnor and I will review it at the badges meeting and then decide.

@terezahl great start! mleonova and I reviewed this at our meeting today and we have a few pieces of input to make it even more successful.

My first thought on this badge is that it should be a content badge, versus a community badge, as the podcasts are being recorded and can be listened to in the future by anyone. I can also see the community aspect of it, but currently it is color categorized as a member badge (pink ring, light green background), so some aspect of it needs to be changed. What are people's thoughts on this?

The stroke on the speech bubble is very thick, and I think you could make it a little bit larger. Try centering about their heads and reducing the stroke a little bit. Try a gray outline instead of the pink.

The microphones are getting a little lost at a small size. Try making them bigger, or even simplifying by taking one out and making the one you leave larger.

Try making the table grey, https://badges.fedoraproject.org/badge/fedora-it-author similar to this badge and give it a stroke.

Thanks for your work @terezahl - can't wait to see the next round!

Hi @terezahl this is definitely an improvement! Riecatnor and I reviewed it today, and we have a few more suggestions to make it just perfect:
- the outline of the speech bubble attracts too much attention right now. Try making it thinner (like on the microphones) or getting rid of it completely
- see if one microphone would look better. It might or it might not :)

Thank you so much for the amazing work!

@terezahl it looks great!!! thanks for your work :) setting to approved
