#716 Objective Completed badge
Closed: fixed 4 years ago by sayanchowdhury. Opened 5 years ago by bcotton.

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):

Objective completed

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is
awarded for certain kinds of activities:

1) What are those activities?

Complete a Fedora Objective

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans?
users? sponsors?)
-
Objective Leads

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)

To advance high-level efforts within Fedora that span multiple releases

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)

Once per Objective (which is should last roughly 12-18 months)

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console?
by using a web interface?)
-

Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?

I got some feedback now, so I'll work on this badge tomorrow. I'll try to add some epicness.

Hi @kate much more epic! A couple suggestions to help it fit guidelines/aesthetics of badges:

  • The logo is washed out on the flag, and not very readable. Generally we avoid using the logo if we can anyways because its obvious we are here for Fedora ;)
  • What if there was a check mark on the flag instead? for the completed aspect! Could be dark blue with a light blue check mark
  • make the flag a bit bigger
  • I like the panda's proud stance, I think it's arms got a little small tho, make them a bit chonkier
  • What if the mountains were covered in snow? Right now they are both too simple and too many, maybe take the one in the bg out? I don't know the solution, just play around with it :)

I look forward to the next draft :D Thanks!!

I think the cape adds a nice touch.

hi @kate, this looks awesome! Such a huge improvement from the first draft you made.

Would it be okay if I go in and polish a couple things up? just fyi this is a normal part of the badge design process, no reflection on your work, which has been really great. I lead the design side of the badges project, and I often go in and make some small changes before the artwork gets pushed. Let me know what you think :)

@riecatnor, Thank you :)
Sure, make changes. I'll look for other issues then. Feel free to involve me on this task though, if needed.

This is amazing! I also agree w/cape is better.

@mleonova sweet! I like it :) thank you!

@kate what do you think about the changes? Do you have any more suggestions or changes?

@riecatnor, yes, it's better with an outline and the color fits. I like it :)

@kate sweet! thanks for your work. Setting to approved :)
