#833 Called to Action
Closed: fixed 2 years ago by gui1ty. Opened 3 years ago by riecatnor.

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):
- You are a member of the Marketing Team!

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is
awarded for certain kinds of activities:

1) What are those activities?
- Being a member of the Marketing Team, working on Fedora's marketing strategies and assets

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans?
users? sponsors?)
- Folks who are interested in marketing

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)
- To promote Fedora and it's latest and greatest, to raise awareness about Fedora, its features, its community

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)
- They can join/step down from the marketing team at any time

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console?
by using a web interface?)
- Being a part of a group of like-minded Fedora folks :)

I'll push this in the next run and update the script that awards group membership badges. This needs to be done in ansible.

I forgot to push this badge in the last run. It will be in the next one, sometime next week.

@riecatnor, do you have any suggestions for the title and description of the badge? How about:

Title: Marketing SIG Member
Description: You are a proud member of Marketing SIG - spreading the word of Fedora throughout the world

@gui1ty I think "Called to Action" is a cute name for the badge.. a play on "Call to Action", an important piece of marketing :) Your description sounds great!

Badge has been pushed. Authorization granted to @riecatnor. Badges will be awarded when cronjob runs next time (13:25 UTC).

Hi @gui1ty thanks for pushing this badge! Although I opened this ticket, I am not super active on the Marketing team currently. I think it should be awarded automatically based on the FAS group, if possible. Here's the group link: https://accounts.fedoraproject.org/group/marketing/

If it's not possible to do it automatically, I would say @joseph should have award rights, and whoever else he designates.

Thanks!

Thank you so much for this badge! It's really neat and also kind of validating. :)

If I could ask for one change, could we change the description to say "Marketing Team" instead of "Marketing SIG"? We don't refer to ourselves as a SIG anywhere else in Fedora so it could be confusing.

Sure thing. I changed it.
