https://github.com/fedora-ci/dist-git-trigger should be modified to skip updates with large numbers of builds attached, as testing-farm does not have the capacity to handle such.

Note that KDE megaupdates can be quite large (~400 packages) but should be tested if at all possible. Therefore, the threshold should be larger than those.
