This reproducible in F31 and Rawhide.
You are switching editions there... so you will need to pass '--allowerasing' and the matecompiz release should replace the workstation one.
If you want to just install the desktop and not switch editions, install the @mate-desktop group not the environment.

but with --allowerasing it's fine. Probably safe to close but in same time other DE's and groups installs without this issue so this could be not obvious for users.
