#353 Should we retire the release-notes RPM?
Closed 2 years ago by bcotton. Opened 5 years ago by bex.

The package has been built for F29 and F30, but wasn't updated for them. It still contains the f28 release notes.

AIUI, this package is no longer a release requirement.

If we are not going to drop it, we should make sure we have a process to build it. One option may be to take the single page html format of the Release Notes that @asamalik knows how to build and use that. A challenge there is ensuring that we can use the resulting HTML offline.

I say we just get rid of it - the amount of Fedora users who can't use a search engine to look up "Fedora X release notes" should be minimal. Packaging relnotes is more trouble than it's worth, mostly because we tend to update them long after final freeze.

We dropped this package beginning in F29
