#106 [Dist-git ARC] Map dist-git calls from Packit
Closed 2 years ago by zlopez. Opened 2 years ago by zlopez.

Let's investigate the Packit component and see what dist-git calls it's doing. For collaboration let's use the HackMD document.

Hello!

Packit PO here..;) Let us know if you need any help from the Packit team.

Just two notes:

  • For interacting with git forges, we've developed a library providing the same API for various git forges (i.e. GitLab and Pagure). This covers the interaction from Packit to the git forge (e.g. no webhooks, events,...)
    • By using this library, other tools might be less dependent on the specific git forge.
  • @mfocko from our team is currently working on supporting CentOS Stream for the release syncing that requires us to work with https://gitlab.com/redhat/centos-stream/rpms/ as a distgit. (When this is done, it will be easier to support Fedora dist-git on GitLab as well.)

Hey @lachmanfrantisek Thanks so much for reaching out with that. We're still in the info-grabbing section of the ARC investigation, but I will probably be in touch when we're looking at the practicalities of the work. Thanks again!

@lachmanfrantisek Can you take a quick look at the PR mentioned above and sanity check it? I think I got all of the interactions listed, but would love another opinion
