#10669 Request for new FAS group: biosboot-sig
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by kevin. Opened 3 years ago by jwrdegoede.

Describe what you would like us to do:

As a result of the very long "Deprecate Legacy BIOS" Change proposal thread on fedora-devel, I'm now working on setting up a BIOS Boot SIG for people who are interested in helping out with keeping BIOS booting working:

First Draft wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/BiosBoot

For this I would like to have a FAS group which can then be the primary owner of / contact for any packages which end up being maintained by the SIG.

When do you need this to be done by?

Soonish.

Note the intend is to also have a biosboot-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org mailinglist created (not sure what the process is for that) and to have that list be the email address associated with the FAS @biosboot-sig group account, as well as the email used for the bugzilla account.

We can make the list and setup the group for this.

ok. I have:

  • Created the biosboot-sig account system group.
  • Added you to it as a user and manager (so you should be able to add whoever you like)
  • Created the biosboot-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org list with you as owner.
  • Added the biosboot-sig group to src.fedoraproject.org

Actions you need to take now:

  • create a biosboot-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org bugzilla.redhat.com account. The initial activation email will go to the list, but you should be able to see it in the moderation queue and act on it.
  • After that is set, allow bugzilla to post to the list.

Let us know if you hit any issues anywhere or need anything further!
