#11298 Install new openqa-a64-worker04
Closed: Fixed with Explanation 2 years ago by kevin. Opened 2 years ago by kevin.

We had a aarch64 box we were planning to use for staging builders, but they aren't used that much and aren't too important, so I am reallocating that box ( formerly bvmhost-a64-16) to openqa to use as a worker. This should allow openqa to keep up better on aarch64.

This consisted of:

  • Setup f38 in /srv/web/infra/bigfiles/tftpboot/uefi/aarch64/f38 on batcave01
  • Add an entry to /srv/web/infra/bigfiles/tftpboot/uefi/grub.cfg for the new install
  • run the noc playbook to copy files to noc.
  • Setup a kickstart file in the kickstarts repo
  • Tell the machine to pxe boot on next boot and power cycle it, then watch console via ipmi:
ipmitool -I lanplus -H 10.3.160.84 -U admin -P chassis bootdev pxe
ipmitool -I lanplus -H 10.3.160.84 -U admin -P power off
ipmitool -I lanplus -H 10.3.160.84 -U admin -P power on
ipmitool -I lanplus -H 10.3.160.84 -U admin -P sol activate

(that ip is the mgmt for the host).

Wait for the install to finish (I did run into a problem with an old grubaa64.efi that was being used not being able to boot f38)

I've now installed it and handed it off to be ansablized.
