I would like to revert the commit https://gitlab.com/fedora/legal/fedora-license-data/-/commit/d3da1c8e56e2c4be6b6ae52a377d2adb31e86bc9 in Gitlab using the Options/Revert feature in the web ui. When I use it, I get a 500 error:
https://gitlab.com/fedora/legal/fedora-license-data/-/commit/d3da1c8e56e2c4be6b6ae52a377d2adb31e86bc9/revert
500 We're sorry. Something went wrong on our end. Request ID: 01HA7ZETXY8P5K0PZXXX3CA9W3 Try refreshing the page, or going back and attempting the action again. Please contact your GitLab administrator if this problem persists.
I guess Fedora Infra is my GitLab administrator, therefore I opened this ticket. This error happened both recently and also several days ago.
At your earliest convenience.
I think our "gitlab administrator" is the gitlab.com folks. I don't think we can do much here.
Can you refile this at https://support.gitlab.com/hc/en-us/requests/new (which I think? is the right place, but not 100% sure)
Metadata Update from @phsmoura: - Issue close_status updated to: Will Not/Can Not fix - Issue status updated to: Closed (was: Open)
After filing the gitlab.com issue, it got closed "Your ticket has been automatically closed because your user record is not associated as a named contact with any organization".
They also link to https://about.gitlab.com/support/managing-support-contacts/
Well, thats not great. ;(
I assume the 500 is still happening?
@sgallagh do you have any idea who we might be able to ping at gitlab? (just a wild guess that you might know someone, if not sorry for the bother)
I've opened a support ticket with them (I'm on the list). We also determined that the 500 happens when trying to use the webui to revert a merge commit that isn't clean.
I think @till was able to do the revert manually from git.
Many thanks!
