#11550 Add a framework private group to Bugzilla
Closed: Fixed a year ago by kevin. Opened a year ago by adamwill.

Describe what you would like us to do:

Create a private group in Bugzilla for discussing Framework hardware that's under NDA, per https://bugzilla.redhat.com/docs/en/html/administering/categorization.html#assigning-group-controls-to-products .

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

No specific date, it's not incredibly urgent.

It should include myself and @coremodule (and probably the rest of Fedora QA), @mattdm , @jflory7 , and Matt Hartley, Nirav Patel, Brett Chalupa and Kieran Levin from Framework. I don't know if they have FAS IDs and/or Bugzilla accounts yet, I will ask them to chime in here.

I think quite possibly we can't do this... :) but I can look some more.

our "Product" is "Fedora" so I don't think that provides the level of granularity needed.

Addiitonally, I don't think we can create new bugzilla groups. ;(

So, we may have to engage bugzilla admins to see whats doable here.

I asked the bugzilla admin and he told me to ask you, that's why I filed this ticket. :D Quote:

"there is an admin page where the product owners can set which groups can be set on bugs in the product https://bugzilla.redhat.com/docs/en/html/administering/categorization.html#assigning-group-controls-to-products
it's MemberControl and OtherControl
for Fedota the uri is https://bugzilla.redhat.com/editproducts.cgi?action=editgroupcontrols&product=Fedora at the bopttom of that age is a table that explains the combinations of those settings
you could use an Agile team instead of an old school group as well"

ok. I will try and look tomorrow...

Appreciate the efforts. My own Bugzilla email was sent out in the email reply from @adamwill .

Matt H.

So, I see that page and all that makes sense.

However, I cannot create a new group.

" Sorry, you aren't a member of the 'creategroups' group, and so you are not authorized to add, modify or delete groups. "

I'll ask bugzilla admins.

ok. I have created a 'Agile team' called 'framework', which shows up as a 'team framework' group.

I've added the Red Hat side folks to it. I will need bugzilla accounts for all the other folks. Either here or out of band?

Also, we should have someone take a bug, mark it as 'team framework', confirm they can see it and no one else can, just in case I messed up something.

Looks good here. I can't access it from my fedora bugzilla account, I can see it from my redhat.com account.

Shall we close this now? Or anything further needed?

we need to add the other three folks from framework (and anyone else from their side who should be in the group), once they have bugzilla accounts.

ok. I guess we keep this open for that then? Or can we close this and just add them out of band when they are ready?

I'm easy. I've forwarded you Brett's account details by email. We still need Nirav and Kieran I guess.

Sorry I've been MIA lately. Monday was a heck of a week. :)

Yeah if you wanted to add Nirav and Kieran, that would be great.

They need to have accounts in RH bugzilla for us to add them, and you need to let Kevin know the email addresses :) (probably via private message or email, I guess).

yep. Just let me know. ;)

Also, I made @adamwill a 'team lead' so I think he can also now add folks.
