#11697 Request for new FAS group: pantheon-sig
Closed: Fixed a year ago by zlopez. Opened a year ago by decathorpe.

Describe what you would like us to do:

I am working on re-reviewing Pantheon desktop, with the goal of eventually making a Pantheon Spin of Fedora available with a future Fedora release. Having a SIG group in FAS / dist-git would make it easier to for multiple people to work on the stack.

SIG wiki page: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Pantheon

I request:

  • pantheon-sig FAS / dist-git group
  • invite-only pantheon-sig mailing list for bugmail

We already have an IRC / Matrix room. :)

Please let me know when I need to create the bugzilla account.

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

Not urgent.

I created the pantheon-sig group and made you a sponsor.

I also created the mailing list and added you as owner.

Have fun and let me know if you need anything else.

pantheon-sig FAS / dist-git group

Looks like this is still missing?

This should get synced when you log out and log in again in dist-git.

I don't think it can sync a group that does not exist. I tried logging in fresh in an incognito window (twice) and it didn't change anything.

I think I found the problem, the other groups in dist-git are member of fedora-contributor group.

Not sure how often this is synced, but if you relog it should resync.

This didn't work.

As far as I know, dist-git groups must be created in both FAS and in src.fp.o separately. (this might be outdated information though)

This howto has the needed part to add it:

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/infra/howtos/creating_groups_distgit/

Perhaps this should be merged into the one howto?

also... for pkgsdb groups, we need to remind the requestor that they MUST create a bugzilla account with the mailing list name. Otherwise we can't sync bugzilla and get the list cc'ed on things.

(ie, I see the budge group didn't do this so we are getting sync errors all the time now. ;(

Before I create the bugzilla account - I'm a little confused by the mailing list.

For example, for the Rust SIG, we have rust-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org. But I got a notification for a new mailing list at "pantheon-sig@fedoraproject.org" (without the "lists." subdomain).

@kevin I didn't noticed there is another guide for creating groups, I will merge them. And that was exactly what I was missing.

@decathorpe Oops, that was my bad. I need to check if this could be changed.

I merged the guides and created the pantheon-sig on dist-git

I also deleted the wrong named mailing list and created a new one with correct name.

Everything should be now in order. I'm closing the ticket, if anything is still a miss feel free to open it.

Thank you!

I have created a bugzilla account for pantheon-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org. Let me know if there's something else I need to do to reduce error messages for releng :)
