= phenomenon = Currently, users who log in end up on their user page (authenticated /user).
= reason = The single login page at /user has no idea where the user came from. The default is to simply change to the auth'd /user page.
= recommendation = It should be possible to have the log in link include a pointer to the current node, and then pass it back once people log in. Might take a module to do this; custom code would be best avoided.

Absolutely, could you package that?

Can you review, asrob?
I'll do the review.
The module is now in testing. It could use some karma from interested people: * https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/drupal6-login_destination-2.12-1.el6
