#9405 request for a FAS group to manage package co-maintainers
Closed: Fixed 4 years ago by lsm5. Opened 4 years ago by lsm5.

Describe what you would like us to do:

I'd like to have a FAS group, maybe container-sig or podman-sig (or whatever the naming convention), which I could add to podman, buildah etc.

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

No rush.

There are a few groups possible for Fedora, we've documented them at: https://pagure.io/fedora-infra/howtos/blob/master/f/groups_in_fedora.md

For the "pkgdb" groups we'll need a little more information, if you could provide them :)

Thanks!

I'll need a pkgdb group. Preferably "container-sig", or else "podman-sig". This group will own all rpms that use upstream projects under github.com/containers.

Please create a mailing list as well.

I'm going to go with the container-sig group and list :)

The mailing list has been created and you have been made admin of it:

The group has been created and you have been made admin of it:

Please create the bugzilla account corresponding to the mailing list. You likely also want to make the mailing list private and invite-only in case security sensitive bugs are opened in bugzilla since the entire mailing list will be included in the CC list.

Please let me know once the bugzilla side is set-up and I will create the group on dist-git.

Will do, thanks a lot!

@pingou, alright, so I set archiving to private and subscription policy to 'Confirm, then Moderate'. Does that suffice?

err, creating bugzilla now...

bugzilla done for container-sig@lists.fedoraproject.org

Hm, not sure, this sounds like it would give people read-only access (ie: they'll have read access and will be moderated on sending emails, like the announces list work in Fedora).

Can you set it in the "Mailing List" field of the group in FAS?

Then, do I set it to simply "moderate" ?

Also, Mailing list added to FAS account. PTAL.

Then, do I set it to simply "moderate" ?

I think that'd be a better setting yes

Done

Ok, the group has been created: https://src.fedoraproject.org/group/container-sig

You can now add people to the group in FAS and give access to the group on dist-git. People added to the group will have to log out and back in for the group membership to be updated and synced to dist-git.
