It seems baloo is not adapted to ostree, it crashed a lot when I had it enabled.

Still after disabling it filesearch works normally. It cant be removed as its a core component afaik.

You can neuter it though with

balooctl disable && balooctl purge

I think this should be applied to kinoite somehow by default until it can deal with ostree. And even without Kinoite would be working great.

There also is controversy around baloo sucking resources and many people hated it in the past. So this workaround could improve performance in general.
