KDE Bug
Spectacle cant launch a screenshot.
Specified App: spectacle-23.04.3-2.fc38.x86_64 --- Software --- OS: Fedora Linux 38.20230817.0 (Kinoite) KDE Plasma: 5.27.6 KDE Frameworks: 5.108.0 Qt: 5.15.10 Kernel: 6.4.10-200.fc38.x86_64 Compositor: wayland --- Hardware --- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 3500U w/ Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx RAM: 13.5 GB GPU: AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics Video memory: 2048MB
Screenshots overall seem to be completely broken since an update about a month ago. Using Firefoxes internal screenshot tool doesnt work either. Flameshot Flatpak, same result. Spectactle and Flameshot dont do anything or the screen gets completely distorted. Firefoxes Screenshot tool only picks a seemingly random, but smaller area than the one selected.
Screenshots work completely normal on X11, so after months I am temporarily switching back.
Any ideas why this happens? I did a rpm-ostree reset already, so the configs should be default?
I can not reproduce any of those issue. I'm on Kinoite 38, Wayland.
Weird thing, spectacle works normally on another user profile! I already deleted my ~/.config/spectacle*
and this did not solve it of course. What kind of bug could this be?
spectacle Remember requesting the interface on your desktop file: X-KDE-Wayland-Interfaces=zkde_screencast_unstable_v1 qrc:/src/Gui/DialogPage.qml:117:9: QML CaptureSettingsColumn (parent or ancestor of QQuickLayoutAttached): Binding loop detected for property "minimumWidth" Screenshot request failed: "The process is not authorized to take a screenshot"
An Option could simply be to move to a cleaner user profile and copy files there, but its important to find out how KDE can break like that
