Plasma is going to gain GUI support for this feature in Plasma 5.23; See https://invent.kde.org/plasma/powerdevil/-/merge_requests/49 and https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/829.

It works great!

However in order to work, the system needs to be running Kernel 5.12 and have power-profiles-daemon installed. We've already got a new enough kernel, so all that's needed to make this automatically work in Plasma 5.23 is to ship the daemon by default.

That should be fine, and I imagine @hadess would be very happy about this. :wink:
