dmidecode and lspci?
Metadata Update from @rlengland: - Issue assigned to andreashaerter - Issue tagged with: article, needs-image, needs-series
@andreashaerter Have you had time to work on the second installment?
@rlengland not yet, hopefully this weekend. Sorry for the missing update of the ticket. I did not forget about it in general.
I'm writing the article now, a draft will be there within the next few hours
I finished the draft, from my POV it is ready for review: https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=40706 Let me know if there are things to restructure or improve.
If all is OK, I would do lsof and lsblk next (Finding open file by user or process, identitfy open network connections via sockets, lsblk -f/h/d) if there is no better idea.
lsof
lsblk
Shall I just open a new issue if so?
lsof and lsblk are good candidates for the next part to your series. 🙂 Since it will be a separate Fedora Magazine post, it will need a separate issue for tracking.
The rest of this week's time slots are already taken, but we should be able to publish this early next week.
Thanks!

@andreashaerter I've opened a new card for the third article: https://pagure.io/fedora-magazine-newsroom/issue/303

@andreashaerter :-) You make editing too easy :-) I've done the editing on your article and I've scheduled it for 8 July, Monday. I also added a featured image. It is a modified version of the one used for your first article.
Please take one more look at it and let us know if there any changes that need to be made.
Thank you.
@rlengland Thanks.
I guess everything is fine :-) but just FYI regarding the workflow: I cannot look at the article or change something because of missing permission after it is not a draft anymore. Neither via preview nor via admin panel (where I can see it listed at https://fedoramagazine.org/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=post&author=13227 but cannot access it in any way). I guess it works as intended but I therefore cannot check anything.
@andreashaerter I've changed the article back to draft. https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=40706&preview=true If we don't hear from you before 7 July we will reschedule it for 8 July.
@rlengland Thanks (and go for it as you wish regarding release).
I only got one question about grammar: I noticed a few changes from "system's" to "systems", e.g.
about the system's hardware and status
vs.
about the systems hardware and status
For me, the latter is the plural form of "system" (instead of the possessive form).
I am asking myself if this was by mistake or if I am missing a native speaker rule regarding "something belonging to a system" I was never aware of and should avoid in coming articles? Sorry if this question might be a bit dull :-D
@andreashaerter The question wasn't dull at all. Possessive form should use the apostrophe and s ('s). Plural form would simply use the s. I believe I found one and must have made a change to all of them. I'm the dull one.

FYI, dmidecode will also accept a few human-readable (and rememberable) keywords.
$ dmidecode -t dmidecode: option requires an argument -- 't' Type number or keyword expected Valid type keywords are: bios system baseboard chassis processor memory cache connector slot
Scratch that earlier comment. Taking a second look, I think I might have been parsing it wrong.
