#73 fedpkg should return better error message when checking out a non-existing pkg
Closed: Fixed Opened by sharkcz.

fedpkg should return better error message than "access denied" when checking out a non-existing pkg

{{{
[dan@eagle tmp]$ fedpkg co foo
Cloning into foo...
R access for foo DENIED to sharkcz
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly
Could not clone: Command '['git', 'clone', 'ssh://sharkcz@pkgs.fedoraproject.org/foo']' returned non-zero exit status 128
}}}

This is actually a gitolite issue and a newer release fixes it. We hope to move to the newer release soon.

There was also an idea mentioned on #fedora-devel - fedpkg could try to find the source package name if "foo" is name of a binary package

Pretty sure this is fixed now with the gitolite update:

R access for asdfads DENIED to tibbs
(Or there may be no repository at the given path. Did you spell it correctly?)

Don't think I can close this ticket, though.

Yeah, this works now. Closing.
