I'm a little concerned that "current" may be ambiguous in some situations (e.g. in the context of elections, 35 is still the "current" release). So anyone who uses this will have to be careful that it means what they think it means. But since we don't provide it now, it won't break any existing worfklows.

Would calling it the "working" release be too much of a stretch? 😛 Just let me know if you like "working" better or if you have some other suggestion and I'm happy to submit a follow-up commit to rename it. No one is using it yet, so now is probably the best time to tweak it. 🙂
