= phenomenon = ircnick: plarsen
= reason = I started using Linux around 1995; have been on Redhat since version 5. I spend a lot of my spare time on #fedora as a "helper" answering questions. To do so, I run several VMs with different releases and setups of different versions of Fedora to be able to test/verify issues people bring in.

I'll be happy to sponsor you into the proventesters group once you have completed a few requirements. Please take a moment to read through the proventester instructions at:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Proven_tester
As a proventester, our job isn't to exhaustively find all defects in a software update that we test. Instead the focus is to determine whether the new package update negatively impacts core system functionality. Please pay particular attention to the documented feedback procedures.
Once you have read through the instruction, can you please confirm that you ...:
have read and understand the instructions, and will follow the instructions when testing Fedora critical path updates.
understand how to enable the update-testing repository
are familiar with providing test feedback using either the Bodhi web interface, or the fedora-easy-karma utility
Once you confirm these three from the list above, then I will be happy to sponsor your membership in the proventester group, after you apply for membership of that group in FAS.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Mike

Thanks Mike, I was offline all day yesterday. I'll make sure I can check all the items you listed and put an update here once that is done. Thanks for getting back to me so fast.
Affirmative.

Done. I've entered my application.
Sorry it took a little time here. It's been a couple of atypical days with little online time. I'm all set and ready to test :)
OK thanks for confirming the requirements have been met - I have now sponsored you into the proventester group.
Enjoy helping to test packages to keep up the QA process for Fedora.
