#32 Minimum Memory about 256M required for Hard Drive installation
Closed: Fixed None Opened 14 years ago by rhe.

Hi, Ryan in fedora-test-list said that Hard Drive Installation failed to find install.img with his laptop memory 214M. Then they did some tests and found that the Installation would succeed for 256M memory but fail for 128M or 214M.[1]

I confirmed it on kvm. So should we update the test case[2] or some places else saying that a minimum memory about 256M is required for this install method? Or is it a bug?

I would say it is not required to specify RAM in single/all test cases, the minimum required memory is already stated in the release notes [1]. If it doesn't match the release notes, then I think we should file a bug for the release notes to be updated.

Kparal is right, otherwise we'll end up documenting a lot of issues that aren't specific to our testing, but to the release in general. We can always update the test cases to point to existing important information in the release-notes/install-guide.

Oh, I thought the release notes wouldn't change as long as it's published. Thank both of you. I will ask Ryan to file a bug for release notes.

Bug541502[1] has been filed by him, I think this ticket can be closed.
