This test day will focus on testing the changes [0] the F30 cycle [0]https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/GNOME3.32
@kalev can you suggest a date for this one?
We've traditionally done it after Beta, but I wonder if it would be better to do it earlier this time?
Doing it earlier would mean that:
(a) it's easier to get bigger changes back upstream (there's no translation freeze yet) and (b) Beta releases get pretty good GNOME testing anyway because a lot of people install Fedora at that point, and it's always felt a bit pointless to have a specific GNOME test after Beta
A downside with moving it earlier would be that the Fedora base platform (installer etc) may still be a bit unstable and make it harder to do the testing.
How about February 25 (or any other day on that week)? That's the week after the GNOME 3.31.91 release and F30 branching from rawhide should have happened by that time.
@aday You said you wanted to be involved with testing Fedora early, how does this sound?
Beta does seem a bit late in the cycle, so yes, so this does sound like a good idea from that perspective!
I can create GNOME 3.32 copr for F29 if Fedora base is not sufficiently stable for the test day.

I am +1 with doing it early with all of you and I think Feb 25th might be a good day if all of us agree to it!
@kalev as 25th is coming close and I am setting up the test day bits can you tell me if there is any new test cases that are supposed to be added
Nothing new I can think of.
Awesome, I am almost done setting the test day bits .. are we free to use the latest rawhide for testing? or will there be a test day image? I see the branched in not updated since a long time now https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/branched/
F30 is getting branched off from rawhide today and the tree should get updated soon. Once that's done we should be able to use new branched images.
@kalev the latest branched shows [liveuser@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa gnome* gnome-online-accounts-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-bluetooth-3.31.1-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-photos-3.31.91-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-calendar-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-terminal-3.31.90-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-remote-desktop-0.1.6-3.fc30.x86_64 gnome-online-miners-3.30.0-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-backgrounds-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-user-docs-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-shell-extension-common-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-maps-3.31.91-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-session-wayland-session-3.31.4-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-user-share-3.28.0-4.fc30.x86_64 gnome-settings-daemon-3.31.91-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-session-xsession-3.31.4-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-boxes-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-terminal-nautilus-3.31.90-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-color-manager-3.30.0-3.fc30.x86_64 gnome-characters-3.30.0-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-autoar-0.2.3-3.fc30.x86_64 gnome-control-center-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-shell-extension-places-menu-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-shell-extension-background-logo-3.24.0-7.fc30.noarch gnome-calculator-3.31.91-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-disk-utility-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-logs-3.31.4-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-abrt-1.2.7-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-shell-extension-window-list-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-initial-setup-3.30.0-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-system-monitor-3.31.91-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-video-effects-0.4.3-5.fc30.noarch gnome-screenshot-3.30.0-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-getting-started-docs-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-control-center-filesystem-3.31.90-1.fc30.noarch gnome-session-3.31.4-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-bluetooth-libs-3.31.1-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-keyring-pam-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-shell-extension-apps-menu-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-icon-theme-3.12.0-11.fc30.noarch gnome-classic-session-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-contacts-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-clocks-3.31.2-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-themes-extra-3.28-5.fc30.x86_64 gnome-shell-extension-launch-new-instance-3.31.91-1.fc30.noarch gnome-shell-3.31.91-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-software-3.31.2-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-weather-3.31.90-1.fc30.noarch gnome-keyring-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-font-viewer-3.30.0-2.fc30.x86_64 gnome-menus-3.31.90-1.fc30.x86_64 gnome-desktop3-3.31.91-1.fc30.x86_64
Can you confirm this as the correct version for the upcoming test day
Yep, those are correct versions for the test day.
Awesome, I have sent out the email for the test day pointing to the branched image which contains them
That was a bit premature I think because we don't have a full F30 compose yet. If it doesn't appear by Monday we might have to postpone the test day.

@kalev sure, lets then move it to Wednesday or Thursday (or any day) if Monday is not possible. I am holding on the community blog post. Please let me know if something happens. The announcements on test list, devel list and desktop list are out though :\ we might have to retract in such a case.
Today's compose went doomed too :(
Yes, maybe let's just move it to Wednesday, not sure if we'll get a working compose by Monday (it takes a long while to run a compose and nobody from releng is probably around during the weekend to fix any issues).
Hey Kalev,
Let's have the image first and then fix the date. if we have something by Tuesday then Wednesday it is!

Sounds like a good plan to me, thanks!
We have a compose now:
https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/30/
@kalev should we fix it on Wednesday in that case? or should we wait and see if everything is alright in the compose for the test day?
Let's go with Wednesday, I think we can solve anything that comes up in the mean time.
Awesome , let me call it again and then put up the blog post on communityblog
Sounds good, thanks @sumantrom!
