#747 Passkey authentication centrally managed users 2023-09-21 to 2023-09-22
Closed: Fixed 3 months ago by adamwill. Opened 8 months ago by ftrivino.

The new changeset [1] has Passkey authentication support for managed users for Fedora 39. Fedora Test Day will help us finding most of the bugs.

Hi,

We would love to have test day/week for Passkey authentication new feature.

Right now we are working on preps, wiki page, and identifying test cases.

Hey @ftrivino

Thanks for opening the ticket. I will help with setting up the bits. However, I would want to know what are you expecting the community to test and can you help us write the test cases. I don't own a Fido2 UBI Key or eqiv and will need help around that.
Test cases are manual (often with shell commands) , has steps that one can read and execute on Fedora VM or baremetal. If this test day requires a very specific kind of pre-requisite setup, we have to sum that up in the test day page itself.

thoughts?

Hi @sumantrom ,

Thanks for the help. We are identifying test cases, close to have a pretty much decent list. In addition, we are preparing some guides, how to set a pin, register a passkey, as well as some tips for HW FIDO2 emulation. Our intention is to provide a COPR repo for tpm-fido package and additional instructions, but there are some quirks we are trying to sort-out. I'm currently working on a wiki page including all this content.

That is awesome :) we can sync up on a call if that helps you!

@ftrivino , I have created the wiki page here : https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2023-09-21_Passkey_authentication_centrally_managed_users

I will need the test cases from you to create the test day events.

Hey @ftrivino ,
A gentle reminder, for the test day to be on 21st, I need the test cases ready , such that the announcements can go out by 18th. Lemme know if you need any help.

@ftrivino Hey Francisco, we don't really have expertise in our team to create test cases for this test day. Do you think you can have it ready by 18th? Thanks!

hi @sumantrom and @kparal I have the test cases :) , how can I share them?

@ftrivino can you link them here? we can add them to the test day pages. thanks!

ah great, I didn't realize it had progressed beyond the last note in this ticket.

This went ahead. The results in testdays got polluted with some spam from an SQL injection attack attempt, but I filtered all that out and imported the valid results to the wiki page. Let's close the ticket, thanks for the tests.
