#771 kernel-6.8 test week 24 Mar - 30 Mar 2024
Opened 7 months ago by jforbes. Modified 6 months ago

Owner: Justin Forbes
Time Frame: 24th March - 30th March
Features: Kernel 6.8 rebase

As discussed at Flock, we will start hosting test days for each major kernel rebase (approximately every 8-10 weeks). It was discussed that we should extend this to a test week, to allow time for more participants. They have been incredibly helpful so far. As the 6.8 kernel is released, I would like to get a test week in before we push the rebase to stable releases. I will have ISOs for USB images so that users can test on bare metal or in VMs, and the kernel will be available in the stabilization repo for users who wish to install it on existing systems. As 6.8 is also going to be the release kernel for Fedora 40, extra testing is required.

Sorry for the later notice on this, I have been in the hospital. While i am still officially out during this test week, I will be around to get things set up, and help out quite a bit during the week. Augusto Caringi (acargingi) will also be around to help.

I am around. I will set up the bits now.

While the results from the test app look pretty bad, only 86 tests from 28 testers, this does not tell the whole story. That app was rewritten and went live the week before test week. Unfortunately, moving to the new auth meant that the script to submit results from authenticated users was broken for test week. This will hopefully be fixed before the next test week.

When looking test week "results" page, this looks like a much more typical test week. Thank you very much for putting this all together.
