This is QA tracker for GNOME Test Week for Fedora 42 release cycle.
@kalev @otaylor @aday @catanzaro , feel free to update this during the course of this release
Hey, we should have a GNOME test day/week, ideally between the time that the gnome 48 bodhi update lands, and the final freeze.
hey @mclasen, can you please give me a date?
@mclasen The final freeze starts Apr 1st, but I don't see the final GNOME 48 update in Bodhi at all! Am I looking wrong?
So the desired timing doesn't seem doable. But if the update is created ASAP, we can land it either before or shortly after the freeze (with a freeze exception), and the test test day can occur some time next week?
Actually, most of GNOME 48 is already stable: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-6a35898dbf with some bits still in testing: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-5de364ca56 https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-be9c647093 https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-982ab02fbd
However, the most important parts - gnome-shell and mutter - are still not even in testing. GNOME folks are trying to remedy that.
@kparal, we need those bits for testing the final Upgrade process... as well. I am scheduling the upgrade test days from 2025-04-02 through 2025-04-06

48.1 mega update was being discussed... did that land @mclasen
