Currently, the menu_launch_type subroutine only starts an application. We want this extended so that it covers for:
* start the application
* check that the application has started
* the check should be skipped if requested
* the application should be maximized after start if requested

Finally got to start working on this. It seems that the original estimation is a little too overpriced.
