@farchord asked whether openQA allows for multi-display testing. It's a good idea, and I don't know the answer! Let's look into it. If it is possible, we should probably do it, because as Steve correctly points out, multiple displays are commonly used and a relatively common source of bugs.

I looked into this a bit, and I don't think it's possible. Multi-display seems like it's already a pretty exotic feature just for qemu, and I don't think os-autoinst has any handling of it. I'm gonna close this as 'impractical for now'.
