Workstation working group discussed Re-revisit Fedora Workstation minimums fedora-workstation#241 in today's meeting
We think Fedora-wide (not just Workstation edition) wherever the minimums+recommended resources are listed, it should include a recommendation to install onto an SSD drive. This is to suggest it's a better experience, not a requirement. And it's true regardless of edition or spin.
Existing text: Fedora requires a minimum of 20GB disk, 2GB RAM, to install and run successfully. Double those amounts is recommended.
Proposed text (one possibility): Fedora requires a minimum of 20GB disk, 2GB RAM, to install and run successfully. Double those amounts is recommended, as is installing to an SSD drive.
Location(s): https://getfedora.org/en/workstation/download/
As it turns out, looks like only Workstation edition has such minimum+recommended hardware requirements. Maybe as part of the websites overhaul, this information can be included for all Fedora editions and spins in a suitable location on the download page?
