#339 Please make "cloud" singular on get fedora pages
Closed: Fixed Opened by mattdm.

It sounds a ''little'' like "Internets" when we say "clouds" at http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options#clouds. Could we make it just "cloud" throughout the site, except for in cases were we explicitly say things like "private or public clouds"?

I'm +1 for this if you mean the link in the main menu.\
I add this as easyfix.

Yeah, the link in the "Desktops Formats Spins Clouds" bar at http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options and in the bullet list at the bottom of http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora.

If it's not too much trouble, the current link

fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options#clouds

and new link

fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora-options#cloud

should both still work.

(Failure case would be that the old one goes to the desktop page and the site visitor would need to click "Cloud" in the tab bar. Not the worst, but not beautiful.)

Ok, fixed.

@mattdm should we also remove the plural on the Clouds tab name from get-fedora-options?

Yes please.

shaiton, which tab do you mean? Did I forget something or do you mean the word "clouds" in the link from http://fedoraproject.org/it/get-fedora-options#clouds to \
http://fedoraproject.org/it/get-fedora-options#cloud

The visible text should be ok, all the clouds now are single 'cloud' :)

The 'en' pages seem to still say "clouds" in a number of places.

I see... \
What do you suggest, how should we handle the variables? At this point we could do it with a script, changing the variable to singular and let it singular for the languages which use it (en, it, fr, de, nl, ch, es, ecc ecc).\
For the others we just have the right translation in the po file.

Ok I have just pushed the update, see 06278a8

But I couldn't get the right anchor working. To not break the old links, it's still #clouds. I don't know why the anchor defined bellow (name=) does not work, so i can't update it :)

Does anyone understand how the anchor is defined? :)

I pushed the update for correcting the anchor to #cloud. \
I think at this point we can close definitely the ticket...

Sorry, I made a mistake yesterday night. Pushed directly into master instead of F18-alpha... :x

ah ha Robert, same as me this weekend.. (even with the branch highlighted on my prompt..)

No we could not close it. Do you really think that I could not have made this change myself? The idea is to keep the old anchor working ("#clouds"). We just need to add a new one as "#cloud".

We are in production here, we should not push an update without being sure that it is right, thanks.

It has already been fixed, cloud is now singular, anchor too.
