#184 Remove rngd from default install
Closed: Fixed 4 years ago by chrismurphy. Opened 4 years ago by catanzaro.

@zbyszek says:

I think that with the recent-ish kernel changes to make /dev/urandom
non-blocking, rngd should not be installed by default.

@nhorman Is a ~2-4s startup delay expected when rngd is enabled? Is it still necessary to be enabled or installed by default in Workstation edition? And are there use cases we should be aware of that go beyond just the default installation behavior? Thanks!

The quoted mail from Lennart gives a good explanation. Let's just drop it.

Leaving this issue open. Action: mcatanzaro to test F34 install and verify that it's really gone.
