#423 Several GNOME packages are out of date
Closed: Fixed a month ago by catanzaro. Opened 2 months ago by mxanthropocene.

Boxes, Console, Clocks, Weather, Maps, Terminal, Loupe, Evince, Snapshot, and Remote Desktop (not Connections, but the gnome-remote-desktop package) are still version 45 in Fedora 40. There are possibly others but those are the ones I've checked.

CC @amigadave (Looks like Nieves has not used pagure.io before? Seems I can't ping her here.)

Since there is a very large number of GNOME packages missing updates, we'll discuss this at next week's Workstation WG meeting. I'll add Builder and vte to the list of packages missing updates. I don't think we have a good understanding of what packages are or are not updated, so we'll likely need to develop some sort of dashboard to keep track.

Since there is a very large number of GNOME packages missing updates, we'll discuss this at next week's Workstation WG meeting.

(Although, this meeting will occur after final freeze begins, so it will be too late to actually do anything about F40 GA.)

Easter is happening across Europe, so it may be difficult to get more updates in place before next Tuesday

Reminder this will be discussed tomorrow. @amigadave please attend if you can.

It looks like Weather and Maps and Evince had all already been updated prior to this issue being reported. (Or at least the package sources had been updated.)

Boxes, Clocks, Loupe, Snapshot, and gnome-remote-desktop were updated after this issue was filed.

Console and Terminal are both blocked on vte.

And it seems David has just updated vte, so hopefully Console/Terminal/Builder will be updated soon.

fbrnch could help with build dependency order

Also @marcdeop has pretty good scripts for sorting and building large package collections as chainbuilds in side tags: https://pagure.io/fedora-kde/kde-update-scripts

If anyone is interested in it, I could ask him to attend a Workstation WG meeting to talk about them.

Closing since everything is either fixed or soon to be fixed. Please open new issues if you notice more problems. Thank you!
