This proposal is for the fallback hostname for server like variants of Fedora to use localhost as the fallback hostname.
localhost
Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended. The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed. See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.
+1
Procedural -1 since there is still active debate on the devel list.

The discussion on the devel list has died down a bit. Hopefully now we can discuss further here.
I support this change because the scope is narrowed to the Fedora editions/variants where it will help the most and it matches processes used by other distributions, especially in cloud environments.
+1 for the same reasons as mhayden. this is a necessary change where we need to match the requirements of cloud environments, public and private.
Please don't vote here if you are not on FESCo. It makes counting the votes confusing.
As @mhayden noted, this proposal seems to solve a particular set of problems quite precisely. Based on the devel list discussion, it seems like there are a number of details about hostname configuration in general that aren’t quite satisfying everyone, but they seem to fall outside the narrow scope of this proposal, and I saw no real objections to the Change as offered.
