ibus-speech-to-text will provide voice dictation capabilities to any application supporting IBus input methods in Fedora Linux 42, using VOSK for local voice recognition.
Owners, do not implement this work until the FESCo vote has explicitly ended. The Fedora Program Manager will create a tracking bug in Bugzilla for this Change, which is your indication to proceed. See the FESCo ticket policy and the Changes policy for more information.
REMINDER: This ticket is for FESCo members to vote on the proposal. Further discussion should happen in the Discourse discussion linked above. Additional discussion may happen on the Fedora Devel mailing list.
Requesting this be fast-tracked please as it fell through the cracks of council f2f travel to follow up with. Thankfully, the change is not tied to the beta freeze or release-blocking and the work is already done, so this is a process formality request please.
+1
This seems to have gotten marked as accepted already?
I added a question on dicussion (is there any plan to install this by default/add to any groups) and there was another question from someone else that the change owner hasn;'t answered yet.
It is rather late, but it seems a lot of work has happened already.
After a week: APPROVED (+5, 0, 0)
Announced in today's agenda.
