#214 [Workshop] Hands on Lab: Using Fedora IoT to Build a Router
Closed: Talk Not Scheduled 4 years ago by mattdm. Opened 4 years ago by coremodule.

What is your proposal?
This will be a Fedora IoT hands-on workshop where the attendees are provided with an ARM board to work with, and we run through step-by-step of making a router with IoT. If we have enough time left over at the end, we can run through making other different projects.

We will also talk about why Fedora IoT is a good platform for projects like this.

Who in addition to the speaker needs to be in the room for this to succeed?
People interested in IoT, ARM projects, as well as hardware projects.

Is this a…
[Workshop]: 2 hour (110 minute) Workshop

Anything else we need to know?
I will be bringing my own hardware to pass out for the duration of the event, if I could have a room that is not being used 30 minutes before my talk for setup, that would be great. Also a projector and internet access would be most beneficial.

Who are you?
Geoffrey Marr, FAS: coremodule, IRC: coremodule

I think this is a super-interesting workshop, but I wonder if we'd be better off sending this to a different conference as an outreach effort, rather than aiming at existing Fedora contributors and developers.

Yeah, the rest of the talk selection committee agrees with me. If you'd like to take this to a local meetup or conference where it'd be on-topic, please apply for funding with Mindshare!
