For some years now, since the Fedora package was reverted to 2.0, this repo's main branch has been out of sync with what we are actually shipping in Fedora. Until now we just managed with patching the Fedora package, but in the long term this doesn't seem to be good state.
Since Fedora is also planning to move away from Pagure (to Fedora Forge) it seems timely to rework the trunk branch to reflect current reality.
I am opening this ticket as a heads-up and also RFC (request for comments). Nothing is "set in stone" yet at this time. But in the meantime we plan to start to experiment with preparing a new branch. Once the new repo is ready and "approved" to replace this, it could be made official and then we would start to use it for future development and releases of the fonts-rpm-macros package.
I have prepared https://pagure.io/fonts-rpm-macros/pull-request/27 which reverts changes/commits in the main branch from 3.0.0 release till 4.0.2 release and then re-applied later commits from 4.0.2 release. Hopefully this will help everything in sync and we can further work and develop or fix any future bugs on this new proposed PR change in the main branch. This proposed PR also includes any missing Fedora package patches which are not in the main branch. Request our I18n and Fonts SIG members to review this PR work. If it looks good we can change the main branch code.
Rebased the main branch now
